We have been joining @JacobLevenson and @eldingwhale + @AkureyriWhales in the field attempting to deploy #CatCam (non invasive archival video tags) on #humpbacks. One beauty carried a tag for approx. 15 hours in #Eyjafjörður. We are excited to see the data collected by that whale
The northern gannet's hunting technique is marvellous to witness! They pull their 2 metre wingspan close to their body, making it possible for them to reach a speed of up to 100 km/h and dive far into the sea to catch their prey! #eldingwhale

HUMPIE the minke whale is back in the bay! Seen every year since 2011, this individual is easily recognisable by its distinctive dorsal fin that makes it look (almost) like a humpback whale!

What is the best time of year to see whales from #Reykjavík, #Iceland? As we operate daily throughout the year, we have the opportunity to encounter whales in different seasons and collect valuable data regarding the seasonality of the species in the bay! https://t.co/ROTKNV3Nf9
It's been 20 years since Elding sailed with its first guests from Kópavogur to Sandgerði, which was our home base in the first year of operation! The following pictures are from that very first trip.
