Today, as we celebrate 250 years of the United States of America, I am grateful for the extraordinary gift of living in a free nation. The ideals expressed in the Declaration of Independence remind us that liberty is not merely a privilege, it is a responsibility.
One of the greatest blessings of freedom is the ability to speak openly against injustice, to defend the dignity of every person, and to work peacefully toward a more perfect Union. Our nation's history has shown that progress is made when courageous voices refuse to remain silent in the face of inequality and oppression.
May we never take these freedoms for granted. Instead, let us honor those who secured them by using our voices with wisdom, respect, and conviction, always striving to ensure that the promises of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness become a reality for all.
Happy 250th Birthday, America. May we continue to cherish our freedom, protect it, and pass it on to future generations.
Mental Health America is deeply concerned by the recent DOJ legal opinion that threatens to undermine more than 25 years of protections and progress for people with mental health conditions and other disabilities.

Stop scrolling! This is important.
Take a slow, steady breath in for four seconds. Hold it in for another four. Now, let it out in one steady exhale for (you guessed it) four seconds.
Rinse and repeat until you feel a little calmer. 🩵
