Couldn’t agree more with the comments from @EamonRyan about our education system: “Teachers should be empowered and encouraged to bring children into nature.” And “our secondary curriculum doesn’t connect enough to sustainability and needs to do better”. #SDGsIRL
@RevRichardColes Gosh I’ve followed you for years and enjoy your wry comments on life which usually invite humorous reply. But the haters have jumped on this one! Sad.
Great morning spent @UCD_Innovators listening to projects on sustainability ranging from waste management to economic sustainability to biodiversity! @AirfieldEstate were happy to take part and gained a lot from the students in return. #Sustainable and #practical#education.
Delighted to have my letter in the @IrishTimes. We’re producing impact measured, gap filling, specification enhancing programmes that can make learning more applicable and accessible to students! if only there was proper space and acknowledgement of them in the curriculum. 🤷♀️
Our little school has so much ability. I’ve stood this year at 3rd Level Scholarship events, rugby, hockey, GAA and soccer finals. It’s an incredibly talented community of students and staff. This, today, in the NCH in the @RTElyricfm National Schools Final was spine tingling!
Take a look at @kirstiemcadoo, our Director of Education and Research's letter in today's @IrishTimes following its article about "why the Irish classroom needs to change". You can read the interesting viewpoint on future-proofing the education system here https://t.co/FmIfY5AAK5
@RossGilchrist5@daraobriain What kind of cheapskate grandparents are you suggesting they are! €45 wouldn’t buy 3 decent Easter eggs from a loving granny or grandpa!!
So @airfieldestate’s fabulous research interns are working away with trying to explore the public’s relationship with food and biodiversity. Please complete the survey below and share amongst your networks if possible!

A great podcast about Airfield Estate, what we do, but also more importantly why we do it. Lovely to talk with these guys and worth a listen (if I don’t say so myself!)
I enjoyed this from @colmannoctor in the @irishexaminer today. Common sense on a subject that can be easy to pay lip-service to: delaying our children's drinking. Looking forward to speaking to our 1st Year parents on this and more later in the week!

Due to an outage with @HEAnet there is no national provision of broadband to schools this morning…please be patient with us all! If there’s something urgent, make sure to call your school! Schools who carry commercial broadband may be ok.
@kevinhargaden Lots of amalgamations and consolidation in that drop, and several of those older schools entered the free scheme in the last 15 years. No schools in Galway, Roscommon, Kerry, Mayo, Wexford, Leitrim, Laois, Offaly, Tipp, Longford, Kildare, Clare, Carlow.
And conscious that this bit got cut from the letter…’That a portion of the state’s parents can have the educational ethos they choose for their families represents a strand of a pluralist society rather than the detriment of same.’
