The European Union is the best thing to happen to Europe. It gave peace to a region that has only ever known war.
Is it perfect? Far from it. But the way forward isn’t to scrap it, but to reform it into what it’s meant to be.
A global superpower. The European civilisation.
European Union, generally speaking, is pretty much the best humanity has done in its entire civilized history.
And it's exactly for the reason the far-right hates it: Built on the foundations of the 1945 anti-Nazi victory, fruits of the best of liberalism and socialism

Here we will take a more evidence-based approach to some of the injuries in Middle Earth

Cantar el himno francés con un submarino con cabezas nucleares detrás y rodeado de militares.
Me jode horrores que los franceses tengan uno de los vídeos con más aura de la historia.
Oh look ! Brexiteer throws a temper tantrum 👇 when other people dare to "take back control of 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 borders" 🤡
It's "designed to deter Brits" we read ! Sure ..... 😀
Believe me, I've read 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 French and other Europeans saying the UK "wants to deter us" because of the horrendous queues (and massive increase in cost now Europeans have to get passports they don't need to go anywhere else on their own continent)
So yes, tough basically ! It's what you voted for in 2016 @timothy_stanley ! (and imposed on the rest of us who've been queueing forever, both ways)
Bon séjour ..... 🤡
How disgusting that thé newspaper which agitated most actively for Brexit is now trying to blame others for the departure of Poles from Britain! They are leaving because of Brexit. It broke Britain. Everyone can see it except you.
The audience erupts with applause
When Daisy Cooper blames the small boats on Farage and Brexit
"In 2017 there was not a single asylum seeker that arrived on a boat"
"Today we have 46,000 a year"
"And do you know why?"
"Brexit....and Farage "

Extraordinary words by Sir John Major on #Brexit at LSE last night: 🧵 🇬🇧 🇪🇺
1. “In an act of collective folly, the United Kingdom voted to lead to European Union across the world, our enemies celebrated and our friends despair.”
“We left Europe on a minority vote of 37% of the election after a referendum campaign that was packed with misinformation and misjudgment, it left our country poorer, weaker and divorced from the richest free trade market that history has ever seen. National interest was brushed aside by false hopes and promises”.
“False hopes and promises that even a cabinet dominated by front line Brexit enthusiasts was unable to deliver the promises they made, […] while the forecast damage of leaving the European Union has become only too apparent. The nation saw Project Fear become Project Reality very easily. It's no consolation that the majority of the public now overwhelmingly recognizes that it was mislead in their moments of triumph.”
“Brexiteers predicted other countries would follow their lead and leave the European Union. None have. All saw only too clearly that Brexit was packed with disadvantages, as we meet far from others leaving the European Union, as we meet nine further nations now wish to join the European Union, which is an apt comment on how the world saw Britain's decision.”
“United Kingdom once reveled, not long ago, within the memory of everyone present in this room, once reveled in being a leading member of the European Union with half a billion citizens and the undoubted first ally of the United States, the world's most eminent superpower. Today, we know we are neither, and so does the world”.
All my life I’ve been told to calm down, take it easy, that things come when they’re meant to. And other bullshit that is meant to make you passive and weak. The truth is you need to be angry and intense. Constantly. That’s the only way a man pushes through limits. That fire inside you, that aggression, that refusal to settle, that’s not something to manage or tone down. That’s your fuel. People will try to convince you that being calm and patient is wisdom, but it’s not. It’s surrender disguised as peace. It’s giving up disguised as acceptance. You don’t break through barriers by being calm. You don’t build empires by taking it easy. You don’t achieve anything worth achieving by waiting for things to come when they’re meant to. You force it. You push. You fight for every inch. That intensity people tell you to control? That’s exactly what separates you from everyone who settles. Channel it. Use it. Let it drive you forward when everyone else is resting. Stay angry at mediocrity. Stay intense about your goals. That’s not a flaw. That’s your edge. Don’t let anyone convince you to dull it down.
Brexit was and is an economic disaster. The failure to call it out means that public opinion is wholly unprepared for the depth of the economic and fiscal crisis. The OBR is forcing the government’s hand on big tax hikes. It may be overwhelmed by the hostility of the reaction
The disgust I feel at politicians now voicing the negatives #Brexit has caused in many communities & sectors because they feel its safer to do so now is so deep!
The devastating, damaging effects of poor political choices since 2008, rather than being competent and truthful is abominable
Les GB regrettent le Brexit - carrément - seuls 29% voteraient aujourd'hui pour quitter l'UE .....
(et la moitié voudrait même un nouveau référendum)

Brexit is an utter and total twatknacking disaster. The Leavelings are either too fucking stupid or complete fucking morons to admit that they 'won' fuck all, the square root of zilch. Brexit was, is, and always will be a fucking disaster https://t.co/JFlxMxWWRc
People seem angrier at a 0.0001% reversal of Brexit than they are about Brexit having been a dismal act of self-harming failure. We were sold a dud, but nobody wants to admit it.
