During COVID I managed a 2-bedroom condo. A nurse owned it.
She had to get a second job to pay the expenses of the condo, as the tenants weren't paying and we couldn't evict.
It was heartbreaking.
During COVID, when governments across the country imposed eviction moratoriums, they didn't step in and help pay everyone's rent.
Instead, landlords were legally blocked from removing tenants who stopped paying - but the bills kept coming.

Thank you to Alan Stock and Nevada News & Views for having me on this week.
I believe Nevada needs practical solutions, stronger accountability, and less government red tape in the way of opportunity. That's what I'll fight for in Assembly District 19.
Assembly District 19 candidate Amy Groves joined Alan Stock this week on Nevada News & Views Thursday. The conversation touched on rising housing costs, homelessness, property rights, squatting, and the growing political divide in America.

The answer to fraud isn't ending a program that helps families. It's finding the fraud and prosecuting it.
Florida investigators are doing exactly what taxpayers should expect them to do.
Two Florida women are accused of defrauding a school-choice scholarship program out of $21k+.
If true, this case shows the program responding exactly as it should: opportunity for students, oversight for fraud, and accountability for abuse.

Florida just arrested a woman who scammed 30 landlords using fake leases and bounced checks. Nevada had a bill to stop the same thing here. Democrats killed it.

81, after one of the pregnant dogs gave birth. This shouldn't have been allowed to go on as long as it did.
Shoutout to the people now working to care for all these animals and get them healthy again.
Authorities in Mesquite recovered 77 dogs from a horrific hoarding situation last week. The conditions were heartbreaking.
The Mesquite Animal Shelter is now scrambling to provide food, treatment, and safe housing for the rescued animals.

Parents tell their kids hard work opens doors. But even if they do everything “right,” race can still count against them?
If two students earned the same results, race shouldn’t be the deciding factor. Most Americans instinctively know that feels wrong.
Imagine studying for years, getting top grades, crushing every exam…
…and finding out your odds were dramatically lower because of your race.
The DOJ says that may be happening right now at Yale Medical School.

Honored to be endorsed by Citizen Outreach PAC.
I’m running to fight for the people paying the bills, raising families, and trying to build a better future here in Nevada.
Safer streets.
Smarter kids.
Smaller government.
Let’s win this together.
There was a time when criminals feared the consequences. Now too many of them assume they’ll be back on the street before the paperwork’s finished.
I believe in backing police.
I believe in tougher penalties.
And I believe Nevada families deserve to feel safe.
Unlike my opponent, I’m not interested in handing taxpayer money to Hollywood insiders while Nevada families struggle.
Let Hollywood fund Hollywood.

“Gun-free zones” are meant to deter violence. But what if they invite it?
Both sides agree it’s about safety. The question is, what really reduces risk?
In states where campus carry is allowed, critics' fears haven’t played out as expected.

California is blowing $750 million a year on film tax credits - and Hollywood is still leaving. My opponent's very first major vote in the Nevada Assembly was to do the same thing with $1.8 billion of YOUR money.

Proud to stand with Nevada’s taxpayers.
I’ve signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge because I believe in lower taxes, less waste, and more freedom for our communities. It’s about accountability, transparency, and putting you first - always.
Let’s keep Nevada strong.
Nevada Lieutenant Governor @StavrosAnthony: "On behalf of all the hospitality workers here in Las Vegas and in Nevada, thank you for putting more money in the pockets of our families."
Tax Day came and went…
And yesterday, right here in Las Vegas, President Donald Trump sat down with local leaders to talk taxes — including ending taxes on tips.
Seems pretty simple to me… if you earn it, you should keep it.
The housing market is waking up just in time for spring. After a slow winter, the market looks like it’s finally shaking off the dust.
For now, it’s a balancing act.
But the door to homeownership is opening wider.

More rules can mean fewer homes. Higher costs can mean higher rent. And more government control can lead to less flexibility in the market.
If the goal is affordable housing, here's the path forward:
Build more. Cut red tape. Let the market work.
Lawmakers are once again looking at a "rental registry"; the government collects details about rentals, prices, and ownership.
Supporters say it brings transparency and helps keep landlords in check.
Critics warn it could do the opposite.

Ford’s “Affordable Nevada” plan sounds great on paper. But once you dig in, it’s full of empty promises, bad economics, and political dodgeball. Nevadans are living in reality. Ford’s living in La-La-Land.

Sony announced they're cutting “a few hundred” jobs, restructuring to focus on what works and cut what doesn’t.
Here in Nevada, some politicians – including my Assemblyman, Jason Patchett – are moving in the opposite direction.
Sony is cutting hundreds of jobs in Hollywood, but Nevada lawmakers still want to pour taxpayer money into the same industry. Critics say it’s a risky gamble that could leave Nevadans footing the bill.

Reports from Zillow say 2026 is shaping up to be a much more balanced year for homebuyers.
It’s not perfect. But it’s progress.
And it’s happening because the basics are improving.

Texas is drawing a line. Nevada should too.
If we don’t, it sends the wrong message: that the rules don't really matter. The system doesn’t matter.
And the people who follow the law come second.
That’s not who we are.
