People like Rand Paul telling you we don't have the money to fully fund social security are like people telling you we can't find $5 billion to fund the wall.

The fact isn't that we can't find the money. It's that they dont want to fund the programs because it will take away from their pet projects or hurt their donors.

It's the same with those who say we need to defund the police.

As far as SS goes, it's a $ 20 billion/ye shortfall at current levels. That's like half a month of tariff revenue to fully fund SS for the year at current levels to make it solvent.

Sure, you can point out the deficit, and that's fine, but remember, the deficit will be there regardless. There is no reason why we can't transfer funds from their pet projects to SS ans keep the same level of spending ir even reduce overall spending. It's just a matter of political will, and those pushing lies like it can't be funded don't have the political will to help the CITIZENS of this country or they simply dont like the program and are afraid to say it so instead we get lies like it cant be funded.
