recording engineer who plays billiards and poker, and eats like a viking I reflexively block blue check accounts and promoted tweets @electricalwsop.bsky.social
Fred Armisen is the most organically funny person I know and hanging out with him is a joy. I like being on Vish Khanna's podcast regardless, but doing it with Fred was a special pleasure. Shout outs to https://t.co/EbosYbdba9

Posting one last time to share info about the Letters to Santa benefit show with John Mulaney Dec 5.
Letters to Santa is the best thing I ever get to do and this show is how it raises funds, 100% of which go directly to poor families. https://t.co/EbosYbdba9

Fuck this. I come here to read jokes, end capitalism and shit on Steely Dan, not be a captive audience for Fuckhead Bigot U. I'm about through, find me on bluey.
Biden's approval rating is 37%, a record low, one year from election. If those who claim to be concerned about Trump winning would switch their energies from shaming fellow Democrats to pressuring the party to propose a viable candidate, we may still be able to avoid Trump.
@dubsak@sooperrecords My rule of thumb is to not give a shit how somebody is playing it back. I'm making a master tape, we're hearing it now, then it'll be in the box on a shelf for the next 200 years. That's all I care about. If we're lucky somebody will release it, really lucky somebody will listen.
@decmusicology @sooperrecords Technically yes but that's a trivial distinction. The resolution topping out at 16 bits is likely why they don't sound good. Lower-level signals are resolved relatively poorly so quiet masters tend to suffer. My complaints with CD sound were never about the high frequencies.
@EricJRacy@sooperrecords I don't have a particular beef with CDs, they were convenient for their day, whatever. Just defending vinyl as a playback format rather than a novelty. It's survived as the format of choice for creating a collection because it is durable and can sound very good. Not for cuteness.
@EricJRacy@sooperrecords Respectfully, barring subsonics, frequency response and dynamics can absolutely be matched by well-made records, and THD is mostly limited by downstream equipment. Subjectively, I've never heard CD playback that convincingly reminded me of studio playback, but have with vinyl.
Hey I had a terrible idea so instead of not doing it, I did it. Yes, it's dog shit, but I used a computer. I'm going to do a funny picture of Hitler baking cookies next.
The White House just compared โanti-Israel protestersโ โ the phrase used by the Fox News reporter in his question โ to the white supremacists who marched in Charlottesville.
