@zig131@SadlyItsBradley Stumbled upon this post doing research.
Bigscreen is using discrete photo diodes and TS4631. Maybe that provides better positioning with Photodiode being smaller, or the TS4112 is not readily available?
@tridekdu Maybe shorted the Vconn / CC and put it in a protect mode? A bit concerning.
I usually test and use this on a Thunderbolt Hub or Thunderbolt device second port to try not break expensive laptop.
The adapter has worked well directly on in Laptop when travelling.
@tridekdu Did you have any luck with this?
Here is my new one. Works well. This adapter: https://t.co/sDEV7AtnkY (C to DP 4K60HZ C)
Since this I have investigated how the CC line affects the Hot Plug Detect in the Link Box and think I have worked out how to implement it. Will try on next.
@OnlypawsCamop I don't know. I have not tried to debug that model.
Will it play back audio fine?
You might need to grab a service manual and start tracing out the signal path with an oscilloscope.
@fuckineedtits@tridekdu SteamVR not detecting it probably means the DP data lines, or DP Aux, or HPD is not connected right.
Bigscreen should not show up as a display? / it doesn't for me. Might suggest the DP Aux lines are not working so there is no or corrupt EDID.
@tentaklus I don't think it is using HDMI over the One Connect cable. The audio is on separate fiber to video. Normally HDMI it would be combined. It would take a lot of work / experimentation / high end equipment to work it out for sure.
