Dolly Parton made the best chicken and dumplings I ever ate. On lunch break she would knock on my trailer door with melt-in-your-mouth dumplings, biscuits, gravy, green beans.Every day it was a southern feast. I had never seen an actor actually use the cooking facilities in their trailer before but she had it all going on. I still have Dolly’s Tupperware…

One of my favorite Dolly stories is one Julia Roberts told about being on the set of Steel Magnolias. It was, naturally, very hot and humid, and Julia turned to Dolly and said, "Aren't you hot? With the wig and everything? Just, you know, just say it's hot!"

And Dolly looked at her and said, "When I was a little girl, I used to dream about being famous and rich, and now I'm both of those things. So I'm not going to complain."
