I don't believe we shall ever have a good money again before we take the thing out of the hands of government. We can't take it violently out of the hands of government, all we can do is by some sly roundabout way introduce something that they can't stop.
- F. A. Hayek, 1984
@paulg A corporate structure with misaligned incentives inevitably produces unexpected outcomes. That’s on Sam and the rest of the founders. They planted the seed for the chaos.
@Arturo_P_A@Leerzeit Superficially yes, but this move guarantees Liquidity Hub's present and future in the US regardless of the case outcome in court. They are simply playing the long game. Good move by Ripple.
@Leerzeit The reason behind the sales is what differentiates it. ODL sales are for a non investment use case, Liquidity Hub sales can be for investment purposes. The“but not using” has no logic here.
@Leerzeit Ripple only sells XRP via ODL for payments settlement, so it's not for investment purposes. If they did sell it via Liquidity Hub as well, you could not say the same. They are just being prudent.
Investigators should ask: Was @GaryGensler acting alone when meeting with SBF? Was this a last gasp effort to finally manufacture that ever elusive “SEC registration” the Chair has been after? Would SBF have ended up with even more consumer assets under his control?
