Clark Gable was so (rightfully) enraged that Hattie McDaniel wouldn't be allowed to attend the Gone with the Wind premiere in Atlanta that he threatened to boycott the premiere unless she could attend. He only relented when Hattie, herself, convinced him to go.

Hattie McDaniel would, of course, go on to win the Oscar for best supporting actress for her role as Mammy.
