Every American should be furious by this
American bank worker was told he had to train his foreign worker replacement. He did, and then shot himself in the parking garage
JD Vance “A computer programmer — was let go at the bank that he worked at, and the bank, they told him, "You're only gonna get your severance package if you trained a foreign replacement to do your job instead”
“And it's a heartbreaking story because he did it. He dutifully did what he was asked to do, and on his last day, he packed up his things, he walked to the office parking lot, he got in his truck, and he shot himself.”
JD Vance didn’t name the bank but I will
It was Bank of America in California
Kevin Flanagan was a software programmer and developer. After being laid off, he shot himself in the parking garage
Multiple reports confirm Bank of America was outsourcing work to India firms and even imported H-1B workers
Rita Moreno’s unforgettable performance of “Fever” on The Muppet Show originally aired in 1976, with Animal wildly backing her on drums. The performance became one of the most memorable moments of her appearance—and it ultimately earned Moreno a Primetime Emmy Award in 1977. 🎶❤️

I used to be a chronic procrastinator and it left me an absolute shell of a human. doing things immediately and with intense urgency was truly the cure. you think of an idea and you write it down instantly. you think of someone and you text them on the spot. even a mundane task like putting your laundry away gets done the second it appears. stop leaving things for later. just do it now
your relationship with discipline changes so much when you shift from doing things from love rather than shame. from 'i have to clean'- to realizing i deserve to have a clean home. from 'i need to work out'- to i deserve to have a healthy body. you deserve the best from yourself
every time you say “this is new for me” instead of “i’m bad at this,” you allow your brain space to learn instead of shut down. that’s neuroplasticity in real time.
the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it’s called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don’t care, but because you care too much.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but use every unfair advantage you have in life, your looks, your genetics, your connections, your parents money, whatever it is, use it because there's nothing noble about making your life harder just to call yourself an underdog. Some people may act like success only counts if it comes from suffering, as if the goal is to prove how much pain you can endure. It's not, the goal is to build a good life. If you've been given an advantage, pretending it doesn't exist doesn't make you humble, it just makes you inefficient. The people who achieve extraordinary things rarely spend their time apologizing for their advantages, they acknowledge them and use them. Remember that the purpose of an advantage is not to feel guilty about it, it is to help yourself go further because of it.
i'm in love with this quote:
"if you're persistent, you'll get it. if you're consistent, you'll keep it. and if you're grateful, you'll attract more of it."
Harris County families are already stretched thin by high property taxes.
Now the Democratic majority on Commissioners Court wants to raise rates again... on top of the massive one from just two years ago.
Only Commissioner Tom Ramsey is pushing back. The rest appear ready to dig deeper into your wallet to cover their unconstrained spending habits.
Pricing out hardworking families is a choice, not an inevitability.
Speak up. Show up. And remember this in November when you vote.
the lesson I learned is that you can wildly, drastically improve brain interconnectivity and neuroplasticity by being obsessed with practicing a skill that you're absolutely terrible at, for two months.
This is an incredible essay that discusses how our brains work—specifically, how the brain can be deliberately programmed to learn or unlearn anything. There is no excuse “I’m just not built that way” or “I can’t change.” You can!
the fastest way to trigger neuroplasticity isn't playing brain games or reading research papers. it's forcing your brain to fail repeatedly at something you have zero natural talent for. high frustration is the literal chemical signal that forces synaptic rewiring.
Do not be deceived... a vote to "keep the same tax rate as last year"... is a vote to RAISE PROPERTY TAXES if appraised values have gone up, which they have!!
I will keep exposing the lies... and continue fighting to ELIMINATE PROPERTY TAXES!!
In the comments I explain how "keeping the same rate as last year" actually translates to a 12.05% TAX INCREASE, as proposed in Ellis County Judge John Wray's budget, along with a link to the URL where you can see it for yourself.
