and the reason you people think hitting children “works” is because it makes them docile and that is the exact result of abuse
it makes you quiet, unable to speak your mind or go against the person who has authority over you out of fear of being “disciplined”
@_y3maya Of course what she did was wrong, but we need to stop normalising violence as a response to people being annoying or inconsiderate. Nobody forced him to drive for 30 minutes to the restaurant, nobody forced him to stay there and watch her fool, nobody forced him to pay the bill.
@_y3maya This is the same logic that fuels domestic violence, where men believe their partners behavior justifies physically abusing them. Being disrespectful or inconsiderate is not the same as committing a crime, and it shouldn’t be treated as grounds for physical abuse.
Give me a hot minute. I need to gather myself and cry.
My first feature.
My first film is screening in London.
In Film Africa London.
I cannot believe my life. I’m forever changed.
The day I was going to give birth to my son, one of my atheist best friends texted me:
“Although we no longer share the same spiritual beliefs, today I defer to your God”.
The way I cried?!
