There's a lot of strong opinions kicking around this platform - so I'll throw in my own. I'm pro-rodeo with some disclaimers.
I'll start with complaints against it:

1) Artists are only making pennies when they get collected, and unless they can really scale into dozens or hundreds of collects they are essentially making nothing posting there.

My response to this is: as opposed to what? How many people are otherwise collecting your limited window open editions on Zora? How much money did you make from people clicking "Like" on the Zuckerberg content farming app? Does sharing cool art on X or Bluesky do anything except garner a few likes - to what end?

You could answer that an artist really needs to be able to list their art for a sustainable amount of money - and this is sort of true - except the point here is that this is a fantasy opportunity cost for most of us. Fine art style NFT marketplaces are shutting down one by one (maybe some will make it idk) because as good as it is for artists - that model itself may be unsustainable. (1/6)
