I was treated very disrespectfully by one of the @FantasyCaresOrg draft organizers for the #SFB16 in San Diego and feel obligated to comment on this in the most respectful way.
I jumped in last second to purchase a live event ticket after someone withdrew days prior to today's draft.
I had my whole day planned out, I even purchased a few more raffle tickets. Unfortunately, as I was ready to start my journey to Dave & Busters, my car wouldn't turn on. I tried to jumpstart it but got no results and it was getting late, so I decided to take public transportation, given Uber is quite expensive for me.
I was coming up from Tijuana so I crossed the border, jumped on the trolley at 11:15 (draft was at 12:00). I had made the draft organizers aware I was going to be late and sent them screenshots of my google maps trip and ETA to show I am headed their way.
40 minutes after, the organizer said I had to be there by 12:06pm, which was clearly impossible to do unless I put on a jetpack 🚀 , (which he clearly knew given the screenshots of my trip. 🚋)
The draft started, I was at pick 4 and selected quickly to not delay the draft. At this point I was 3/4 of the way to my destination. The next 4 picks went through and the commish then pauses the draft, kicks me out and that's it. No other communication.
I followed up through email and only got this response:
"Yeah, sorry Luis. The rules come from above. There have been lots of communications starting that you have to be present to pick. "
Communications starting? It should have already been communicated, not as you see fit. There was another player that arrived at Carlsbad as he did not get notification the location had changed, so clearly there are some communication skills to improve on.
This was going to be just my second time playing in the #SFB and I had to jump through hoops to get in. I had to take taxis, cross the border, jump on the trolley to attend and they couldn't show a bit of empathy? Ironic for an organization called Fantasy Cares.
@ScottFish24 I hope this helps as feedback for live drafts so that no other players get insulted in this manner. I hope to join another draft in the future.
I can provide name of the organizer in private should you wish to discuss it with him.

Police responded to Smith’s home after receiving a call, checked everything out, and left without taking anyone into custody, per @AndySlater.
Mike McCarthy on Eli Heidenreich:
“Eli’s a natural football player, he’s very instinctive, has an excellent skill set. He’s picked up the offense. His position flexibility has been fun. He’s had a tremendous start. I’m very impressed with him.”
