"Their fate will be like that of the people of Firaun and those before them—they all rejected Our signs, so Allah seized them for their sins. And Allah is severe in punishment." (QS 3:11)
There is a fundamental similarity between the stories of Musa and Firaun, Saleh and Thamud, Hud and Ad, Abraham and his father, and Noah and his people. These people do not want to lose their position and power in society, but they risk losing it when they follow Allah's law.
History just repeats itself, and it seems we don't learn from the societies before us. Firaun was drowned, Thamud was destroyed by an earthquake, Ad was wiped out by a violent wind, and the people of Noah were destroyed by a flood.
Such leaders are extremely rare in this era. Even when one emerges, our enemies spread fitnah against him, exerting great effort to bring him down from his position of leadership.
The key to achieving maximum prosperity in society lies in establishing an honest economic system - one that uses real, physical money and abolishes the interest-based system.
