Women have been saying for years that there is a growing backlash against gender equality, and every time the conversation comes up we’re told we’re imagining it.
Now the United Nations is saying it.
According to a UN report, nearly 1 in 4 countries reported setbacks in women’s rights and gender equality. Hundreds of millions of women and girls are living in conflict zones, violence against women remains widespread, and UN officials are warning about a growing backlash against women’s rights worldwide.
The part that stands out to me isn’t even the statistics. It’s that women have been raising concerns about misogyny, online hostility toward women, violence, and attacks on reproductive rights for years, only to be dismissed as overreacting.
If the UN Secretary-General is warning about the “mainstreaming of misogyny,” maybe it’s time to stop pretending these concerns came out of nowhere.
Do you think women’s rights are genuinely facing setbacks, or do you think organizations like the UN are exaggerating the problem?
"Aquele bebê que ela abortou poderia ter curado o câncer!!"
As mulheres no Afeganistão que não têm permissão para falar também poderiam, mas você parece não se importar com isso
When people say "I'd do anything for my child," everyone praises them, but when a parent risks crossing a border to save their child from war, poverty, or danger, suddenly they're treated like criminals.
This morning I woke up to videos of women begging for their lives in Ozoro
Last week I woke up to photos of children taped to tables and hog tied while dressed like princesses for our president
Last month I woke up to reports of 70,000 men group chats in Germany where men discussed how to 🍇 their family members
Last year I woke up to stories of firefighters, journalists, and nurses who all collaborated to Gisele Pelicot because her husband wanted to break an unbreakable woman.
I burn with rage for all of the women TODAY who have to live in this world with men
And yet it's feminism that has gone too far and I am the offensive one for my anger?
Republicans in North Carolina just proposed a bill that says if a woman is caught with an IUD or attempts to get an abortion then men are allowed to use DEADLY FORCE to try and stop her. They are proposing a bill that will allow men to kill women for using birth control. It’s House Bill 1232. Keith Kidwell is the Republican who proposed the bill. He claims it counts as self defense to use deadly force to stop abortion. This is a man who claims to be pro life. Feel free to give his office a call and let him know how you feel about his opinion.
And for anyone who says “obviously this will never get passed” that’s not the point. The point is it’s fucking insanity that a government official would even try to make a law like this. It’s insanity that there are men out there who are trying to make it legal to kill women for making decisions for their own bodies. This is real and it’s happening right now in front of our eyes.
Turns out this "concerned parent" was arrested for a hate crime and whilst at his property they arrested him for drugs and weapons offences too..
so tell me whats more dangerous a flag or a coked up weapon owning twat
Before pride month starts im just gonna say this:
-men’s mental health month is in November
-straight pride isn’t a thing. Nobody has ever been oppressed or killed for being straight
-veterans get 2 months. May and November
So do some research before complaining :)
They used to throw women in the water to see if they were witches. If they drowned, they were innocent.
Now they're saying the only abortion exception is if the woman's life is at risk. If she dies, she was at risk.
You can see the recurring flaw in the methodology.
Pigs are naturally clean animals. They only roll in mud because they can't sweat and need to cool down.
The filth you associate with pigs? That's what happens when you take away their space and water, so blame it on the humans.
A woman on my flight yesterday switched seats with her husband because their toddler wouldn’t stop crying.
The second she sat down alone, she closed her eyes for maybe 30 seconds.
Just resting.
Not sleeping.
When the husband walked past with the kid later, he laughed and said loudly,
“Must be nice to finally get a break from doing nothing.”
A few people chuckled.
She laughed too.
But something about it felt off because for the entire flight she had been:
holding the baby,
packing snacks,
cleaning spills,
walking him down the aisle,
missing her own meal trying to calm him down…
while the husband watched a movie with headphones on.
And honestly I think that’s why so many women are exhausted.
Not because they’re doing everything alone.
But because they’re doing everything while someone else calls it “nothing.”
@Framinthor@Zarish5062 Abortions don’t require men btw! Pregnancies do. But the topic is abortion, not pregnancy:))) stay focused mike.
Birth control ALSO, does not require a man.
And fuck male appearance preference
Hope this helps
