WHO YOU MARRY CAN AFFECT HOW FAR YOU GO WITH GOD.

“A man filled with great spiritual potential can fail completely when he chooses a terrible wife.”

Marriage is not merely companionship.

It is covenant.

It is alignment.

It is destiny partnership.

A wrong marriage can introduce distraction, conflict, spiritual resistance, emotional instability, and decisions that slowly weaken a calling.

A right marriage can strengthen obedience, preserve focus, multiply effectiveness, and provide the support needed to fulfil divine purpose.

The Bible says:

“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” — Amos 3:3 KJV

This is why marriage must never be entered casually.

Do not choose only by beauty.

Do not choose only by emotion.

Do not choose only by chemistry.

Do not choose only by pressure.

Ask deeper questions.

Does this person love God?

Do they honour divine purpose?

Can we walk in spiritual agreement?

Will this relationship strengthen or weaken obedience?

Can we build a home where God is truly first?

Marriage can either become a platform for destiny or a battlefield against it.

So pray carefully.

Discern accurately.

Receive counsel.

And never allow impatience to make a lifelong decision for you.

While young men dreamt of kneeling before the damsel of their dreams to ask "will you marry me?" In the quietness of my own lonely world, I always wondered, "who will marry me?" Why will any jewel, divinely crafted, choose to fuse her heart and life with mine?

My past was a tale of brokenness and healing. My future not so certain for nothing was really promised. I had no comeliness for which I was to be desired. The burdens of the Lord had "damaged" me so; kneeling with a ring in my hand was not a luxury I could afford nor a thought worthy to entertain. To this day, I still unsuccessfully labour to unravel the mystery that is your choice to do destiny with me, my jewel.

Alas, you took an irreversible leap of faith into the unknown. Choosing to be my bride even when it did not make sense to. You locked your hands, eyes, and heart with mine and promised to follow wherever I lead. You have lived with me, warred with me, cried with me, and stood by me. My wife, my beloved, my companion, my fellow-missionary, prophet, warrior, and intercessor. The greatest treasure God has given to me after Himself.

Every time I look at you, It is easy to see that you were sculptured different. Nothing; not your beauty or love mirror anything earthly or fallen. In a world where love has been tokenised and intimacy has become transactional, you, my darling, like a typhoon breeze have lavished love on me rocking the very essence of my being and uprooting any doubts locked within crevices of my soul. You make loving and obeying Jesus easy and loving you a divine adventure.

Seventeen years have flown by so quickly. Seems like just yesterday our journey of faith began. At the beginning you chose me, now I choose you everyday. I am permanently locked in, and look forward to forever. Loving you freely and unconditionally, until Jesus comes to take us home.

THE ENEMY WANTS YOU TO BELIEVE HE IS IN CONTROL. HE IS NOT.

God is the Landlord.

The devil may act as though he owns the territory, controls the outcome, or has the final word — but he does not.

The Bible says:

“The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” — Psalm 24:1 KJV

And again:

“He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.” — Psalm 2:4 KJV

The enemy is not sovereign.

God is.

The devil is not the final authority.

God is.

And through Jesus Christ, the believer is not helpless before the operations of darkness.

Jesus said:

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” — Luke 10:19 KJV

That means you must stop living as though the enemy has unlimited access to your life.

Your spiritual practices matter.

Your words matter.

Your obedience matters.

Your prayer life matters.

Your knowledge of the Word matters.

Your consecration matters.

Do not cooperate with what you should be resisting.

Do not confess what you should be rejecting.

Do not tolerate what Christ has given you authority to confront.

The Bible says:

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” — James 4:7 KJV

So tighten your Kingdom practices.

Strengthen your prayer life.

Personalise the Word of God.

Speak in agreement with Scripture.

Walk in obedience.

Remain submitted to God.

And refuse to magnify the enemy above the authority of Christ.

DECLARE IT: GOD IS THE HIGHEST AUTHORITY OVER MY LIFE. I WILL NOT LIVE IN FEAR OF THE DEVIL. I SUBMIT TO GOD, RESIST THE ENEMY, STAND ON THE WORD, AND WALK IN THE AUTHORITY CHRIST HAS GIVEN ME.

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: - (Ephesians 4:26)

READ: Romans 13:11-14, Colossians 3:5-8

Jesus can return at any time. This is why my wife and I ensure that we settle any misunderstandings between us before we go to sleep, because we don't want to be left behind. I don't want anything to keep me from going with the Lord when He returns.

In today's memory verse, Paul urges us not to allow the sun to go down upon our wrath. Never go to sleep angry or with grudges in your heart. Do not let anger fester, for it can create a barrier between you and God. Ephesians 4:31 says that you should put away all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamour, evil speaking, and malice. Cast them off because they will keep you from going with the Lord when He returns.

Child of God, settle any issues you have with others quickly so they do not hinder you from being a partaker of God's Kingdom when He returns. If you find it very easy to keep a grudge, run to God for help today. Ask Him for the grace to forgive those who offend you, even if they have not asked for your forgiveness. Do not allow offence or anything at all to separate you from the Lord for eternity.

For believers, death is merely like falling asleep because a glorious eternity awaits us (1 Thessalonians 4:13). For those living in sin, however, eternal damnation awaits them after death (Hebrews 9:27, Revelation 21:8). This is why you must live your life prepared to meet the Lord at any time. Settle every matter as quickly as possible because you do not know the moment when your eternal sleep will begin.

One man of God said that the Sunday after the rapture, some churches will still be full. The pastors will still be there to preach, but this time around, their preaching will not be casual. They will stand on their pulpits and say, "I knew this event was going to happen, but I didn't prepare myself and this congregation for it." They might apologise to the congregation who will be left behind, but their apologies will be useless at that point.

Beloved, if you miss the rapture, all the time you have spent in church will be in vain. Forgive those who have hurt you; let it go! I pray that God will give you the strength and courage to deal with anything in your life that can cause you to miss the rapture, in Jesus' name.
