BREAKING: Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) has been detected at a commercial farm in the Karasburg State Veterinary District, //Kharas Region.

Acting Agriculture Minister Charles Mubita announced in Parliament today that 10 of 11 cattle samples collected on Tuesday tested positive for FMD.

The government has immediately suspended the movement of cloven-hoofed animals and their products countrywide, as well as imports and exports of all cloven-hoofed animals until further notice.

The Directorate of Veterinary Services will issue further control measures.
