@lporiginalg The issue with conservatives is that they ONLY care about the generality and they pretend that the exceptions dont exist or dont matter. An exception existing doesnt prove the generality wrong, but the exception still exists and there needs to be an answer or explanation for it.
@lporiginalg It depends on the topic. With something scientific, exceptions actually matter a lot. You could easily say "evolution is driven by natural selection," and you would be correct. However, it would be bad to treat genetic drift as though it isn't real just because its an exception.
@dissidentwest I feel like this every time a Christian tries to argue against me on atheism or evolution or whatever. Christians, for whatever reason, just dont have the exposure to outside beliefs where they can accurately portray them
@jamesenglish0 Is covid a conspiracy theory now? Have we gone so full circle on conspiracies that it is now a conspiracy theory to think covid is real, when previously the conspiracy theory was that covid isn't real?
@bush_isaac7935@WWallis9999@GigaBasedDad Too bad the first point about the bald eagle egg is a strawman argument that nobody is making. "Killing bird egg is bad because entire species could go extinct and disrupt the ecosystem, affecting us humans down the line" is a more accurate argument for why we have that law
@GigaBasedDad Humans arent endangered my dude. Why should I care about what happens to an unfeeling clump of cells? If eagles werent endangered, I wouldn't give a shit about what happens to their eggs. The reasoning behind the eagle egg thing has nothing to do with the value of an unborn thing
@Wisdom_HQ The answer is very simple and easy to understand, so the question feels very dishonest. Its like saying "If I came from my grandparents, why do I have cousins?"
@BobVKooglesack @AlfredMcknight@elonmusk Police are supposed to be readily identifiable. That isn't doxxing. Regular police deal with way more violence and doxxing than any ICE agent has (maybe that will change after Alex Pretti).
@MAttack45@DaHomieRiz@letthedeviIout Spider-man doesn't have strong political stances. Main aspect of his character is helping people because he has the power to do so. Often, he's fighting corrupt organizations who are hurting people. He does the right thing, even when the law is against him. A true fan would know.
@MAttack45@DaHomieRiz@letthedeviIout "January 20 through the end of July, ICE conducted over 16,000 street arrests of immigrants who had no criminal convictions, charges, or removal orders. Incredibly, over half (nearly 9,000) occurred in June and July alone: 90 percent of them were immigrants from Latin America."
