Aliko Dangote spent $20 BILLION (₦33 TRILLION) to build the largest refinery in the world.

Yet…

- Faruk said the Dangote refinery was not completed, so they refused to issue a license. After completion, another problem came up.

- Faruk said Dangote’s fuel was not good. Tests were done and Dangote was publicly embarrassed. In the end, it took President Bola Tinubu’s intervention before approval was finally given.

- Faruk claimed Dangote was producing more fuel than allowed. Dangote invited Faruku to come and inspect personally, he refused.

-Faruk insisted Dangote must buy crude oil in US dollars. Dangote still agreed.

- Now Faruk is importing massive amounts of fuel from abroad just to undermine Dangote 😭

So tell me… who is really jealous of who?

Why import fuel from overseas when the same fuel is being produced locally at a cheaper price?

If there is no corruption or injustice, why all this effort to frustrate local production?

Aliko Dangote invested $20 billion to build a massive refinery, but has faced repeated obstacles from Faruk/NMDPRA. These include delays in licensing, claims that the refinery was incomplete, allegations that Dangote’s fuel was substandard (later overturned after presidential intervention), accusations of overproduction, and demands that crude oil be bought in US dollars. Despite Dangote’s compliance and invitations for inspection, authorities allegedly continue to frustrate the refinery while importing large quantities of foreign fuel.

We as Kikuyus have been taught from childhood to hate Raila Odinga!

We were told that the uncircumcised shouldn't be the president of Kenya.

We were told that if Raila becomes president, Kikuyus will wear shorts.

We were told that if Raila Odinga becomes president, he'll take away our land.

For decades, we have lived hating Baba Raila Odinga, not on our own volition, but by the demonisation induced in us from childhood by those who came before us.

Despite the sacrifices Baba made, including fighting for the democracy we enjoy today, we overlooked it and focused on what we were taught.

Now that Baba is gone forever, who'll be the next bogeyman to be used by Mt Kenya politicians to seek votes?

Trust me, people in Mt Kenya never used to vote based on agenda—they were just voting against Raila Odinga.

Raila Odinga is gone; I hope now people of Mt Kenya will revert to voting with their heads and not with emotions!
