This week was an interesting one to be a school teacher.
With Venezuela, Iran, and Minnesota all over the news, I had a lot to talk about with my students.
Just kidding—we discussed grammar and literature. I’m an English teacher, not an activist.
I remember when I scored once and my wife said nothing.
The next day she said she didn’t know I had scored because she wanted to be first at the buffet
What opened my eyes to all this nonsense was realizing that most of the supposed benefits from Peating and similar alt-health movements come from overloading on vitamin A, which forces stem cell turnover. It’s basically like microdosing chemotherapy. You get this strange Fountain of Youth effect where you feel better for a while, but then crash because your stem cell reserves run low. Some people are fine with that, especially those who value aesthetics over health, and that’s their choice. Personally, I care more about long-term health and keeping my liver strong
I asked my 4 yr old if he was excited to be in his Uncle’s wedding To which he responded “yeah and I can’t wait to be the ring bear I have been practicing” and then proceeded to get on all fours and growl loudly at me. No plans to correct his understanding of his role
"Wouldn't it be dreadful if some day, in our own world, at home, men started going wild inside, like the animals here, and still looked like men, so that you'd never know which were which?"
- Lucy (C.S. Lewis, Prince Caspian)
@Gibson_U_Witch @alyssaleann Many planes have movies and music available on their little seat televisions. We are strict at home, but you better believe our kids were free to binge on cartoons or whatever in-flight when they were little lol. The novelty of having their own earbuds was huuuuge.
@selentelechia Yes!
I felt like I urgently had to pee at every moment throughout both pregnancies. That relief was immediate and huge.
Severely anemic both times. I felt relief within days in my energy and strength.
Being able to lie down flat on my back the moment baby was born? GLORIOUS!
The tragic failure of natalist marketing is that nobody without kids knows that babies are a huge source of comedy and entertainment, not just a drag on an entertaining life. They are little slapstick comedians, elves, non-stop humor from baby antics, and do not mind adventure.
@BarstoolPAT If you don’t like noise on an airplane, how are you not wearing earplugs or noose cancelling headphones? I assume this isn’t your first flight.
Don’t say it won’t help, because that’s not true. Even cheap earplugs will take the edge off.
@BarstoolPAT@Delta You’re looking at your phone here, yet you’re still whining. If it didn’t work for you, what makes you think it would work for the baby?
@TeflonGoblin @RebBarrettNP @BarstoolPAT@Delta Honest question: Do you think airplanes, trains, and buses in the eastern half of the world are peaceful, without children making noise?
@mrsdobbins_ Braid(s) + satin hair bonnet.
I get hot easily, so I tuck my bonnet behind the ears. Not super glam in the moment (whatevs), but then the hair looks good & isn’t atrociously tangled once you take it off after.
You can also do a bun under it, or just tuck the hair without tying it
@nicolita_d Reading those comments is causing my blood pressure to boil.
But then I remember the images you’ve shared of your perfect angels in their beautiful eternal embrace, and my heart is softened. Thank you for sharing their story with us out here in Twitterland. You gave them life. ❤️
