@gaywonk I just rewatched it today as well!
I have a feeling I'm gonna end up rewatching it a third time before the end of the week. It just like...sits there in your head refusing to go away
I was invited to speak about Palestine to a German audience. The talk was cancelled because the framing of Israel as a settler-colonialist project may be interpreted as antisemitism according to German law. You see the problem? Y'all in the west are NOT FREE. #WakeUp
Notice how Palestinians have been so vilified, delegitimized, & marginalized that our own testimonies have to almost always be backed up by int’l voices. Prioritizing the validation of international voices (especially Israeli born anti-apartheid advocates) is part of the problem.
I often find myself doubting my own testimony if I don’t back it up with international organizations and representatives. I even amplified anti-apartheid Jewish voices and Israeli voices because we’ve been so invalidated. I am still un-learning that our own testimonies are enough
THIS DAY in 2018, unarmed Palestinian nurse Razan Al-Najar, wearing a luminous medical vest, was shot dead on this day by an Israeli sniper while tending to a wounded demonstrator.
@bombsfall One of the most insidious things about the way American foreign policy has been covered by the media over the decades is that even if you do nothing but describe the facts of what America has been up to in any other region of the world you sound like a raving conspiracy theorist
Lifta, a Palestinian village on the outskirts of Jerusalem, was forcibly depopulated by Israel in 1948. It has sat empty since as Israel refuses its Palestinian inhabitants their right of return. Now, Israel is planning to demolish the village to build Israeli housing units.
The ONLY time the media won’t show up to a gathering that involves thousands of Arabs and Muslims...

Fun fact: as soon as Israel occupied the Sinai they IMMEDIATELY built hundreds of settlements on it. The tactic of building settlements on occupied land outside the green line is to complicate negotiations about giving that land back.
Ask me again who’s using human shields
Today, no amount of crocodile op-eds or Hasbarist TV pundits can reverse the true face of Zionism which was unleashed so vividly onto the watching world. The “defense” forces are a constant aggressor and fundamentally, inarguably a terrorist organization. https://t.co/c7JK8TtQkW
Soldiers of Israeli colonialism are evil. No other word. Bred by a society for whom state-sanctioned massacre & land theft are honorable feats. When a soldier shoots extrajudicially or spitefully, he’s backed by every Israeli institution’s ammunition, in a partnership of death.
The recent hyper-visibility of the Israeli occupation’s crimes & partnership with its genocidal settlers is making the authorities panic. They’re doing all they can to silence us: from digital censorship to physically targeting those documenting & expose Israeli colonial violence
The Israeli occupation just forced all those documenting the police brutality at Sheikh Jarrah to leave the scene. They threatened that “non-journalist filming with a cellphone” will be suppressed—2 days after they brutalized & jailed 2 Palestinian journalists. #SaveSheikhJarrah
Massive national rally in DC today, in solidarity with Palestinians. There must have been, in total, ~10 thousand people if not more - many bussed in from other states. The Lincoln memorial grounds were packed despite the weather.
Following footage from a friend.
