MAKE THE READ.
Why it matters?
1. The rim is open.
2. Your teammate is open.
3. Thereās a reason youāre open.

The Right Read is the Best Read.
Mark Daigneault on Aaron Wiggins handling his limited role in these playoffs: āLike a total pro, just like everybody else. I think all these guys' willingness to accept their role at any given point in time, which is not permanent, it changes constantly. But their willingness to accept it and stay inside the team and continue to put the wind at their teammates' backs has applied pressure to everybody to continue to do that.ā
āMichaelās the blueprint for basketball in general. In my opinion, the greatest to ever do it.ā
āKobe Bryant was my first big role model, and he was the poster for hard work.ā

Finish empty every day.
Show up. Give your best. Strive to be the best you that you can be. Live with no regrets.
Have to know your āwhy.ā You canāt drift to a desired destination. Your why is what drives you.
Live with āKaizenā ā commitment to continuous improvement.
Be honest with yourself, but be fearless! Donāt be afraid to fail. Understand that you either do/win or you learn.
Strive to be better. Ask yourself, āIs there a better way to do this?ā Donāt get stuck doing something because youāve always done it that way. Find the best way and give your all.
Be 1% better everyday!

This is GOLD
āYou arenāt always going to be liked as a head coach but if you are always honest, and tell the truth, you will always have their respectā
I tell my kids all the time, the worst mistake I made as a player was blaming a coach for losing confidence! Itās between you and the reflection in the mirror to do the work! Your work should be so consistent that no one person can ever make you doubt yourself as a player/person!

"It's a daily process. You just stack good days. Everything we do we have high standards and expectations. The standards can never be compromised and there has to be accountability throughout the entire organization coaches and players." - Curt Cignetti
Confidence comes from receipts.
Early mornings. Extra reps. Film. Sacrifice. Discipline.
Then you step in and compete like you belong - because you do.
And the result?
It should sharpen your belief, not decide it.
Absolute gold from Tom Izzo
āItās such a phony world right now and everyone tells everybody how good they are. Nobody tells anyone they need to get betterā

Nick Saban explains why you're not entitled to anything in life.
"You get up every day, you're entitled to: Nothing."
"Nothing is acceptable, but your best."
You get what you earn in life. That's it.
No one owes you success, opportunity or playing time. Those are things you earn.
Show up, do the work, and earn it every day - not because you're told to, but because that's the standard you hold yourself to.
Your thoughts drive what you want - your actions drive what you get.
The gap between the two? That's where most people fail.
