People are asking: what caused the #BCFlood?
Was it climate change? Wildfires? Outdated engineering specifications? Clearcut logging? A natural event?
The answer is yes.
An unpopular thread on logging in British Columbia. The most recent announcements are changes to FRPA and Old Growth deferrals have reared the polarizing head of โitโs all about jobsโ, but there are a few other things to consider.

@RyanKBrook I worked as a student tech in PANP in 2017, and am 90% sure had an encounter with a small wild pig (it was in some tall shrubs so I couldn't 100% tell before I got out of the area), so I'm pretty sure they're in there but not sure if they have been seen much since!
New MSc position available in @wildlifeevoeco โ Come to @MemorialU and work on snowshoe hares and climate change. Pls RT!

It helps slow wildfires, but it isn't profitable to the logging industry, so it's useless under BC's current forest management paradigm.
This report by @bethanylindsay from almost 3 years ago highlights yet another reason why change is so needed.
