Someone passed his technical interview using an article I wrote. Honestly never met him before, and I only found out because he posted about it on LinkedIn earlier this week.
And once again, I’m reminded that writing about your work and sharing your thoughts is really one of the best things you can do.
Because when I wrote that polygon article for my #BuildingChowdeck series, I was mostly writing because I had to talk about it. It was the first large-scale system I designed and implemented end-to-end in my career, and this year, I promised myself that I was going to take the time to pen down my thoughts and talk about that entire process.
I definitely wasn’t thinking, “Hmm, this will be useful to someone in a system design interview about surge conditions in a couple of months,” because really, who can predict that?
But I’m beginning to realize that that IS the actual argument for writing about your work. You can't predict who needs it or when they will. But what you can do is make it findable. And you can only do that when you write/talk about it!
This morning inside university of Ibadan, at 9 am, I saw Morning Glory 🥹
Fun fact: I mentioned time because they only open in the morning. Swipe to the 4th image to see how they look like in the evening, which is how I saw them yesterday. So I went to check them again this morning and I was blown away 🥹. See that electric violet.
Fun-er fact: The pink stripes are there to guide bees and butterflies to the white part inside because that's where the nectar is.
Fun-est fact: Morning Glory is the first cousin of Sweet Potatoes. It's not related to Purple Heart too, even though they both open only in the morning to attract early pollinators. Isn't that fascinating 🥹🥹
I’ve done all this in Nigeria.
Donated Blood sometimes because my patient couldn’t afford it.
Stuck my neck out for an OSUSTECH student attacked by cultists, suturing him in complete darkness because they could come back if they knew we were saving him.
Sprinting across the hospital to borrow an oxygen cylinder from another ward.
All while our salaries were being owed.
Non-functioning incubator? We built one with a paper box.
Infectious ward? We bought our own PPE.
Faulty Generator on Night shifts ? Serviced it and continue working.
WE got shit done.
I do not always get what I wanted at once.
I wrote O’level four times before I eventually had the coveted C6 in Physics
I wrote JAMB four times before I eventually made it & gained entry into the University, when I eventually got admitted into FUTA in 2012, some of my high school mates were already in their finals.
I started applying for Scholarships in 2017 & only got lucky four years after in 2021; I submitted about 24 applications to different countries & continents before Erasmus Mundus eventually fell on my knees.
I’ve submitted over 4,000 job applications in this Europe, got only about 20 interview invites & only 4 offer letters.
Most of you know me as a Supply chain crooner on this app, but little people knew that’s a career I started after age “30”
Resilience is something I’ll always preach, I’ve lived through it myself.

Today I attended the Claude AI hackathon after seeing the post from @PajosTM and it was a success.
I’ve been looking to switch to using Claude AI and the program gave me a lot of insight on how to get started.
Also a big congratulations to the winning teams!
