They left home as boys 8 decades ago to go out and save the world. Last night they sat at the WWII Memorial together and celebrated their country's 250th. Still heroic.
ELON MUSK: “See how much violence there is on the left, with our friend Charlie Kirk getting murdered in cold blood this week and people on the left celebrating it openly, the left is the party of murder and celebrating murder.”
My friend Charlie Kirk has died. Taken from us because in this broken culture free speech has been twisted, and labeled as hate. Make no mistake, Charlie’s voice was never hate. His voice was conviction. His voice was courage. His voice was a call for truth when so many chose silence.
Charlie knew Jesus Christ. That is the anchor in this storm. He knew the hope of eternal life, and he lived with a boldness that came from that confidence. While the world may try to silence him, heaven has welcomed him. His work here is finished, but his influence will echo far beyond this moment.
What happened to Charlie is an indictment on the darkness in our culture, but it is also a reminder that light shines brightest in the darkest places. They may try to bury the truth, but truth has a way of resurrecting.
Today we grieve. We weep. But we do not despair. Because Charlie’s faith has become sight. And the torch he carried for truth, for freedom, and for Christ is now ours to lift even higher.
Enough is enough.
My friend shared that she looked at her mom teary eyed after yesterdays events asking her how do I raise a child in this broken world? Her moms response was something I want to share: "There is no reason to have fear because the Lord purposed you & your children to be on this planet at this time in history and He will give you the mercy & He will give you the wisdom & protection that you need to raise your children in this season. You were meant to be here during this moment." I hope this helps some of you. It helped me.
If you believe free speech is for you but not your political opponents, you're illiberal.
If no contrary evidence could change your beliefs, you're a fundamentalist.
If you believe the state should punish those with contrary views, you're a totalitarian.
If you believe political opponents should be punished with violence or death, you're a terrorist.
I doubt Charlie Kirk and I would agree on anything but I do not give a single fuck. A human was just publicly executed at a university for having views other people did not agree with.
The fact that there are so-called anti-gun and anti-violence people on this platform celebrating the violent murder of someone is enough internet for me.
If you are truly anti-gun and anti-violence - and you are smugly or gleefully enjoying this, you’re absolutely sickening. The tweets I am seeing from professionals and activists revelling in this murder are unforgivable.
RIP Charlie Kirk. It doesn’t matter what your opinion is of Charlie or his politics if you don’t view this as one of the darkest days in American history than you are part of the problem.
In regards to Donald Trump and Elon Musk right now….
Father, you are the God of wisdom, justice, and peace. We lift up those in high places and those in quiet rooms of influence, and ask that You silence the spirit of pride and strife. Break the chains of selfish ambition and melt the hearts hardened by division.
Let Your Spirit reign where tempers flare. Replace petty bickering with holy conviction, compromise, and clarity. Remind them that they serve under Your authority, not their own.
Grant them courage to do what is right, humility to listen, and vision to lead with righteousness. May peace prevail where power once ruled.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
