I have a new essay @HammerandHope on the shenanigans in Florida over the state’s African American History curriculum. Yes, I read the entire 200+ page document and it’s not just one bad sentence. https://t.co/0Bi1IsSsxe Thread follows.

I shed many tears while typing up these heart-wrenching text messages sent and received by UNC students yesterday. Our campus was on lockdown for more than three hours.
Beyond proud of this cover and the team behind it.

Congrats to summer @Sacred_Writes trainee @eljemison on the publication of her first op-ed for @rns, on the Christian white supremacist history of Florida's new education standards. #BackToSchool
I wrote this @RNS op-ed about why we must not miss the history of white Christian racism behind Florida's new K-12 curriculum.
Thanks to @Sacred_Writes@modmyth & @PaulODonnellEIC for guiding my ideas here.

@ChloeAngyal Sending condolences @ChloeAngyal. I just called my 98-year-old grandmother. I'm glad I still have the chance to do that. I've always been reminded of mine when you've written of your grandma. My thoughts are with you.
I'd love to live in a country where my expertise in Christianity & white supremacy from the 1800s onward was irrelevant , but since it's evergreen, I'm grateful that @Sacred_Writes and @modmyth are training me to speak to broader audiences.
Some of the @Sacred_Writes scholars I’ve been working with this summer are historians of Reconstruction & white supremacy & frankly I wish their expertise was a little *less* relevant to public discourse. @DrDarnise @eljemison https://t.co/YzbKRXTKmE
I’m already learning so much from @Sacred_Writes and my cohort members. Excited for all the learning this summer as I head into my (first ever!) sabbatical this fall.
Everyone give a warm welcome to our Summer 2023 race, justice, and religion cohort of 12 public scholars, training funded by @HLuceFdn! Read more about our newest cohort on our website, and in the thread below! https://t.co/ocdCdQrmxt
@katebcarp Here's my kiddo at 1 month as I mailed my signed advance contract on my book and at 2.5 years when I finally held the book (& was pregnant with his sister). It's hard, clearly, but I love both parts of life. Daycare, lowering standards, and support have been key for me.
@ASChurchHistory's call for 2023 Research Fellowships is out https://t.co/TWy7KOBOxA Grants for independent / contingent / graduate student folks in Church History (any time period or geography). Apply by April 15. Happy to answer questions via DM
