It was wonderful to be able to represent student midwives in Scotland today to present the findings of our finance report Here’s hoping it makes a difference to our future students! @ScotlandRCM@MidwivesRCM @studentMWisla
It’s hard to sum up all my reflections from #rcmconf24, shout out to my fellow Scottish student contingent of @MidwiferyNic and @studentMWisla and everyone that I’ve spoken to in the last few days. Fancy doing one in Scotland? 🏴👀 @ScotlandRCM@MidwivesRCM

Kicking off with Dr Denise Tiran presenting on safety of alternative therapies in pregnancy
With @ScotlandRCM at the @MamaConference today! Kicking off with @JakiLambert presenting on Cultures of Care, and the importance of caring for the workforce.
I’ve been lucky during my placement with @ScotlandRCM to spend some time at the Scottish Parliament - managed to pick an interesting day to go! Was able to see the work of trade unionists today campaigning for fair pay for social care workers @ScottishTUC
A focus of meetings this week has been around work of trade unions and employee relations, alongside caring for staff - but the results of this snap poll demonstrate how unsustainable current models across UK are. 45% Scottish Midwives worked additional unpaid hours in one week.
During one week in March, the people who responded to our poll work an extra 136,834 unpaid hours to keep services running safely.
The results from our snap poll are staggering and show a clearly unsustainable model running on compassion https://t.co/MLaTzzMgbn
Spending the next month with @ScotlandRCM for my elective placement - busy first day today in huddles and planning project work for the next few weeks! Speed 20 min arts and crafts session once I got home of the hallway of the office 🖌️
We hope yesterday’s news has given some hope and comfort to many of our bereaved community. This year’s #BabyLossAwareness theme is milestones and the launch of the Pre 24 week Pregnancy and Baby Loss Memorial Book was indeed a big milestone in Scotland’s recognition of all loss
