Innovators, application to IMPEL (DOE's tech-to-market program) is open! If you are working on early-stage building technologies, this is a great opportunity to get access to training, lab facilities/ prototyping, incubators, etc. https://t.co/ciPM2gZH2M
OUCH! French 1y ahead electricity price exceeds €1,000 per megawatt hour for 1st time. The German equivalent also gained to a record, hitting as high €829 a megawatt hour, capping a 48% gain this week.
well, I think our official account meant to say #supercomputing 😀😀 For the last phase of the study, we simulated 845,164,800 unique shifting opportunities for flexible loads.
NREL researchers published a first-of-its-kind study—and developed publicly available dataset—that estimates the gross value of generic #building flexibility in future power systems projected for the contiguous U.S. using #computermodeling. https://t.co/NMuyJaG4qP
We found that 1 kWh of flexible building load can provide up to $105 in gross grid service revenue by optimizing its electricity usage for just 20 hours out of an entire year, if the grid values are passed down to consumers.
We developed an integrated building-grid modeling framework that can evaluate the value of flexible loads (in grid service provision and emission reduction) for any existing or new building technology. Here's a news blurb:

@damienics Our minds are synced. I was just complaining about the fact that the Inflation Reduction Act has a ton of incentives for EV, but NOTHING for public transit.

From RE Futures to electrification, transmission, storage, and 100% RE studies, what we have learned in the past decade on the electricity sector transformation: https://t.co/MRGF3UbePO
@damienics still not optimistic. 1. energy consumption to GDP ratio is high. 2. still export driven. 3. rising inflation. 4. lingering COVID. 5. political uncertainty re: 20th NCCCP
It has been nearly 1 year since the announcement of the latest U.S. #NDC. To achieve 50-52% we need significant action from all levels of society, including rapid reductions of at least 39% from transport—our largest emitting sector. https://t.co/o67DSER17N
@kyrib Sounds familiar : ) My colleagues and I have long concluded that the peer-review publication process is more about luck than the quality of the paper
Please share! Final week to apply! Third Derivative is seeking #climatetech startups tackling the world’s most ambitious challenges. Apply to this powerful accelerator here by the April 12 deadline: https://t.co/RzVbDhVJRU
A great day for a new Supreme Court Justice to be confirmed! True that she cannot tip the ideological balance of the Court now but…life is long. On environmental regulation specifically, record suggests KBJ follows facts & law, open to argument, both sides have won=a good judge.
