@DW2025X@gospel4grace I do find this very odd. I can't imagine a high amount of discernment without the help of the Holy Spirit to guide you in understanding God's word.
@DW2025X@gospel4grace Believing is an active verb. We are most definitely making a decision to receive the free gift of salvation or not to. As disciples already saved/justified we too make a decision daily to live by faith.
Faith is the only way by which we can receive God's free gift of salvation by His grace. Our works are for discipleship/reward at the bema seat/profitable to others. Our works contribute zero to justifying us before God. We are not co-saviors nor our our savior. Jesus is Savior!
No, James 2 is not merely about โjustification before men.โ
James 2:21-24 explicitly says Abraham was justified by works when he offered Isaac, the same Abraham Paul uses as the example of justification by faith (Romans 4).
James even quotes the exact same Genesis 15:6 verse Paul does, then concludes:
โYou see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.โ (James 2:24) Which men were around when Abraham was justified by his work? He was standing before God.
This is written to believers, yes, but James is correcting the idea that dead faith (intellectual assent without obedience) saves. Genuine saving faith always produces works.
Paul and James are not contradictory:
Paul fights against works of the Mosaic Law (circumcision, etc.) as a means of earning salvation.
James fights against antinomianism (claiming faith while living in unrepentant sin).
This is why the Catholic Church teaches we are saved by grace through faith that works through love (Galatians 5:6). Faith is never alone.
Jesus Himself will judge us based on works (Matthew 25:31-46). That doesnโt mean we earn salvation, it means real faith produces fruit.
Grace and peace.
@ChelleRae378 It is by grace through faith that we receive the gift of salvation to be sure. Sadly there will be many believers at the bema seat, i.e. rocky soil, carnal Corinthians and Laodiceans that all are eternally saved but did nothing with their salvation. The but part it what confuses.
Jesus is full and complete savior.
He doesnโt need your help.
He doesnโt need your cooperation to save you from hell.
We are free the instant we believe.
So live like it to be a good steward.
@AL_J82 He denied there is a millennial reign of Jesus on David's throne and added gnosticism into the gospel. Not a good source and makes number 1 untrue.
I find it strange that fully grown adults spend their time debating abortion as though they somehow entered the world differently from every other human being.
Every single one of us started the exact same way.
A sperm. An egg. A unique human DNA sequence. A developing human life.
That's not religion. That's not politics. That's basic biology.
Yet we're constantly told a series of increasingly absurd claims to justify ending that life.
๐น "It's just a clump of cells."
You are a clump of cells.
So am I.
The question isn't whether something is made of cells. The question is what kind of cells they are.
A human embryo isn't dog cells, cat cells, or tree cells.
It's human.
๐น "It's not a human."
Then what species is it?
There is no stage of pregnancy where a human mother is carrying a dolphin, a kangaroo, or a toaster.
The unborn child is human from conception.
The debate is about whether that human has rights.
๐น "It's not alive."
If it's not alive, why is it growing?
Why does it have a heartbeat, brain development, cell division, metabolism, and measurable biological activity?
Things that aren't alive don't develop.
๐น "It's my body."
Your body has your DNA.
The baby has its own DNA.
Your body may be female.
The baby may be male.
Two distinct human beings are involved.
๐น "It's just reproductive healthcare."
Removing a splinter is healthcare.
Treating cancer is healthcare.
The deliberate termination of a developing human life is a completely different moral question, which is why abortion remains one of the most debated issues on Earth.
๐น "Nobody should tell a woman what to do."
Society tells all of us what we can and cannot do when another human life is involved.
The entire debate comes down to one question:
When does a human life deserve protection?
Everything else is a distraction.
The reality is simple.
Every abortion supporter was once an unborn child.
Every politician arguing for abortion rights was once in a womb.
Every activist marching for abortion was once dependent on their mother for survival.
Nobody arguing this issue today would be here if someone had decided that dependence made them less human.
That's the uncomfortable truth at the center of the abortion debate.
You don't have to be religious to recognize it.
You just have to be honest enough to admit how every single one of us got here.
@MasterMaliq According to the Quran, you are supposed to believe the people of the book, Surah 29:46. Clearly it is a contradiction, but our book is the credible one and order. You have another Jesus, another gospel and another spirit,

Bill Gatesโ โOrganicโ OrganiPeel Coating Is a REGISTERED PESTICIDE on Your Food!
Bill Gates has rolled out an โorganicโ version of his Apeel coating called OrganiPeel โ and you cannot make this up.

The ingredients label?
- Citric acid: 0.66%
- Other ingredients: 99.34% (complete mystery โ no full disclosure)
That โcitric acidโ is manufactured citric acid fermented from black mold A. Niger.
The official warning label says it causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes or clothing. Wear safety glasses before handling. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, or using the toilet.
You need safety goggles to touch itโฆ but itโs supposedly safe to eat on your produce?
Donโt worry โ they say itโs plant-based.
But so was Agent Orange.
Next time you bite into that shiny โorganicโ fruit or vegetable, ask yourself: What am I really eating?
