Find me @michellefson.bsky.social Cambridge Uni cognitive scientist researching thinking & reasoning skills related to learning science, maths & literacy.
Beyond excited -- @ESRC funded our cam-DTP (@AngliaRuskin, @Cambridge_Uni). Work together, with our network unis (@uniofbeds, @UniofSuffolk) and our region will enable a more diverse set of social scientists to tackle our communites' most pressing social issues.
Here is a radio interview I did last month talking about human cognition, dyslexia and other aspects of educational neuroscience.

(1/5) Very excited to announce the publication of Bayesian Models of Cognition: Reverse Engineering the Mind. More than a decade in the making, it's a big (600+ pages) beautiful book covering both the basics and recent work: https://t.co/5dnLpcMQzu
Excellent point @sjblakemore. Can I just add with my DTP hat that many UK funders will count the research skills learned in research assistant posts as graduate level training
Undergrads/graduates: if you want to do a PhD, can’t afford to do a masters and know the area you want to do a PhD in, a perfectly decent alternative is to apply for a research assistant job and gain substantial research experience. Check https://t.co/yCJLUcvj7O for job ads
@AlisonGopnik Congratulations Alison! It is such a well-deserved honour. I’m so sad to have missed the award and your talk. (I can’t be at CogSci this year.)
I am unable to travel to #CogSci2024. Already looks like folks are having a grand time. Thank you @cogsci_soc for reposting any posters and talks with the hashtag . I’m getting see some fab research from afar (though it is increasing my FOMO …)
@TheRealDrDukes Some off the beaten path ideas:
Menswear shops on Savile Row/Jermyn St
Carnaby Street (in the SoHo area)
Borough Market (near Tate Modern & the wobbly bridge)
Tower of London is great for monarch history but less crowded at Hampton Court Palace
