I don’t think I really recognized how much of that teenage girl living inside of me still held on to one direction as a safety and a comfort until now .
no kidding the best way to describe the way i have been feeling since the news broke is like in twilight when bella just sat on that chair for weeks while it’s a possibility plays
The whole reason I joined Twitter/X in the first place was One Direction and to stay connected to them. I cannot wrap my head around the loss of this connection.
I guess I became the 1D girl at work because I’ve had multiple people check in with me - including people from my old job. Girl. It’s so real. Too real.
idk when u idolize a band at a young age they feel untouchable and immortal in a way. like it feels so insane to think someone who was a part of smth as big as 1d can be gone just like that
if the news is true - even though i was not a fan of him anymore, one direction changed and shaped my life so much and he was a part of that band. these feelings are so complicated and hard to navigate. i am literally at loss for words.
a reminder that you’re allowed to show empathy and mourn someone who was once a big part of your life years ago but isn’t anymore. that’s human. and you can also feel sad but also think of and respect victims of someone’s actions. you can feel both at the same time.
people are not mourning the man liam payne became, they are mourning the man he used to be and the man they grew up with. the man that was part of something that shaped millions of peoples lives.
