BREAKING: In a humiliating moment, the leader of Qatar’s negotiating team just completely ignored JD Vance. These negotiations are going horribly and once again the Trump Administration is making the US the laughing stock of the world.
Everyone is angry at this.
Not just the Malays. The Chinese, the Indians, the indigenous tribes and myself included as an East Malaysian.
And we should be.
A family of four from Terengganu, a father, a mother, a 73-year-old grandmother and a 10-year-old girl, were on their way somewhere on Monday afternoon near Simpang Renggam, Johor.
It looked like a regular day but they never made it home.
Two brothers of Chinese origins, 19 and 22 years old, were racing on that same road in a Mercedes Benz A250 and a BMW 530e.
When the BMW lost control, it crossed into the opposite lane and hit four other vehicles.
According to news reports, the 22-year-old driver also died when his car entered a ravine.
Five people died in total. No amount of money can bring back those five lives.
I’ve seen people make this a racial issue online. I understand the anger.
But to me this is a road safety failure.
And somewhere, it’s also a parenting failure.
Because two young men shouldn’t be racing luxury cars on a public road. Something along the way went very wrong. So wrong… 😔
This is a classic case of cause and effect.
Every day we see drivers like this on our roads. Speeding, weaving, treating the highway like a circuit.
Many don’t see the importance of road safety until it happens to them or to someone they love.
The scary part is no matter how careful we are, some people are careless.
We used to have real road safety campaigns in this country. In the 80s and 90s, it was everywhere, on TV, on radio, in schools.
It shaped how a generation thought about driving.
I feel the culture is gone. And we’re paying for it with lives.
I won’t be surprised if something like this happens again in a few months. Because nothing has really changed.
I don’t know when Malaysia will become a country that is able to reduce its road accident rate.
To the families who are affected, words are not enough. May they rest in peace. Deepest condolences. 😔
She was born the seventh of nine children in Kuantan.
Her father was a public servant who got transferred all over the country, so she grew up moving between small towns.
Her mother never finished school. But her mother worked harder than anyone she knew, and believed education was everything.
That belief sent Swee Lay Thein to medical school at Universiti Malaya. She graduated in 1975.
Then she moved to the UK and spent the next 20 years chasing one stubborn question. Why do some patients with blood disorders suffer terribly, needing transfusions their whole lives, while others barely feel sick?
The answer was hidden in a gene. Babies are born producing a special kind of hemoglobin that protects them. Then the body flips a switch and stops making it.
Swee Lay wanted to know what controlled that switch. If you could keep it on, you could save millions of lives.
It took her decades. She travelled across the UK collecting blood samples from families. She flew to Malawi to study a single family with 270 members across seven generations. She hit dead ends. She kept going.
In 2007, she and her team found the gene. They called it BCL11A.
That discovery led to Casgevy, the first FDA-approved CRISPR therapy for sickle cell disease and beta-thalassemia. A real cure. Already changing real lives around the world.
Last month, Dr Swee Lay Thein stood on a stage in Los Angeles and accepted the Breakthrough Prize, often called the Oscars of Science.
She is the first Malaysian-born scientist to ever win it.
In her speech she said, "As a child hanging out with my older brothers, playing on old railway tracks in Malaysia, I never imagined being here today."
She dedicated the moment to her mother. The woman who never finished school.
A girl from Kuantan. A mum who believed in education even though she never got one herself. A daughter whose work is now saving lives around the world.
That is a Malaysian story.
Tahniah, Dr Swee Lay Thein. We see you. We are proud. 🇲🇾
Bekas suami Jahidah kekal ke penjara, pelaksanaan hukuman dibenar tangguh
Mahkamah mengekalkan hukuman penjara 10 tahun ke atas Rosmaini Abdul Raof, yang menyebabkan kecederaan parah terhadap bekas isteri ketiganya, Jahidah Nordin @ Sylvester, sehingga koma empat tahun lalu.
A month after we got married, my mother-in-law came to stay with us for a few days.
I was anxious, expecting her to judge everything I did.
One evening, my husband walked into the kitchen and casually said,
“Isn’t the food ready yet? I’m hungry.”
I had just returned from work, completely drained, but I didn’t say anything and kept going.
My mother-in-law was there, listening to it all, but she didn’t react immediately.
After he left, she gently called me over and said,
“Does he think this is a hotel?”
I felt embarrassed and replied that maybe I wasn’t doing enough.
She looked at me and said something I’ll always remember:
“You’re not his servant—you’re his partner. Being tired shouldn’t fall on just one person.”
Then she stood up and called out to him,
“Come here, habibi… your wife isn’t here to serve you. If you’re hungry, either help her or make something yourself.”
He fell silent—clearly not expecting that from her.
After that day, things began to change. Sometimes he’d get to the kitchen before me,
and if I was running late, he’d say, “Sit down, I’ll handle dinner tonight.”
That’s when it really hit me:
Not every mother enables her son at her daughter-in-law’s expense...
some raise men who know how to be true partners.
Israel killed 3 Indonesian UN peacekeepers in South Lebanon.
They were wearing blue helmets.
They were in UN uniforms.
They were peacekeepers.
Israel bombed them anyway.
Not a peep in Western media.
Not a word from the international community.
Kick Israel out of the UN.

Kedai not halal,-certified ada but as far as I know syarat nak buka kedai dlm Suria must serve halal ingredient
For me la:
1. Hari Raya first day (especially waktu pagi) kalau boleh elakkan beraya dekat rumah orang. Bagi peluang tuan rumah spend time dengan family sendiri dulu, makan masakan dorang, rasa kuih raya, ambil gambar. Kalau nak datang pun, datang tgh hari or petang sikit. Ni baru habis solat terus tetamu datang, tak sempat enjoy time dengan family😌
Jangan tiba2 muncul bawak satu konvoi kereta masa orang tengah rehat😌
4. Kalau janji nak datang, tolong datang. Orang dah penat prepare makanan nak sambut kau, tapi kau tiba2 cancel. Kalau kena dekat I, i blacklist je next raya
5. Jangan meminta atau ajar anak meminta duit raya. Kalau ada rezeki orang bagi, Alhamdulillah. Kalau tak ada, pun tak apa. Kita tak tahu keadaan kewangan orang lain, jadi jangan sampai membebankan atau memalukan sesiapa. Raya tak sepatutnya revolve around duit
@chairmanGLC@HASiLMalaysia Satu lagi cadangan, sediakan ruang attachment document, senang nak upload document... Apa ke bangang nak odit barang 2,3,4 tahun lepas.. Menyusahkan betullah kena trace resit balik
They call him Netanyahu, but his real name is Milikowski — an Ashkenazi from Poland.
He didn’t grow up on the Jordan’s banks, but in New York’s elite salons.
He doesn’t represent a people, he represents a machine: political, military, ideological.
