Our last graduating class. The ceremony was beautiful, powerful & bittersweet. For 7 years I worked with an amazing admin & staff, I can’t thank them enough. I guess it’s true that all good things come to an end. I will hold this school & all of the memories in my heart forever.
This survey is confusing and misleading, and to say that it is not family- or community-facing is an understatement. The only upside is that we can rate the state takeover “poor” in so many different ways.
And just like that, the data is released! 360 High School outperformed the state and PPSD in 31 out of 35 indicators on RIDE surveys of staff, families and students! We are still asking: why close this school? Check out the results here:

In a surprise to no one who is familiar with @Friendsof360HS, our staff and students continue to excel, with our school winning Top High School Project at RI Civics Day and @caleighrock winning the Teacher Changemaker award via @Sabina_Matos
"I am standing with Rich Norris and Kerry Tuttlebee. Two amazing educators. Providence should be modeling their leadership after you....what you all represent is what I wish every school should be like" - Anjel Newmann, School Board Member

360 High School community (students, teachers & parents) passionately filled the Council Chamber & expressed concern for the school's planned closure this year. Councilors asked tough questions of PVD Public Schools leadership. RIDE's Commissioner was invited but did not attend.
@Friendsof360HS “We’re hopeful that [the Commissioner] might see [keeping 360 open] as a win for her too. It’s a chance for her to show that she really does support MLL s and she really does want to listen to the community.”

Reminder to all the friends of 360HS out there- @pvdcitycouncil meets this Thursday, 3/28 at 6PM with only one thing on the agenda: discussion of the proposed closure of 360. We’re going to be there. Make a plan to be there with us to show your support!
“The Providence School Board vehemently opposes the closure or merger of 360 High School and strongly urges the exploration of alternative measures to sustain its continued operation” @pvdschools board votes on this resolution at Weds. 3/20 6pm meeting. The community needs this.
The State Tournament delivers another incredible finish. Classical beats La Salle, 67-66, to take the state crown. One of the most fun games I’ve seen.
360 Social Studies teachers have been publicly fighting to #save360hs. Four of them (the entire department) applied to three available positions at JSEC, where they could continue to teach 360 students. None received an interview. Coincidence? 🧐
