@stevage1 Starting with a calendar invite is fine for me as well as long as we've been introduced and discussed a possible meeting and I can propose a reschedule.
@stevage1 I like people to ask my availability in the broad timezone sense i.e. so they don't list options while I'm asleep. Otherwise listing options as step 1 is the least faffy
Lots of lovely things have happened recently.
Not so lovely: random teen looking me up & down, loudly speculating on my sex characteristics and referring to me as "it".
Should I hand out lollipops to every kid who clocks me, like Genderqueer Halloween? Are the kids alright?

Being immunocompromised is probably one of the most isolating experiences during this day and age. It’s hard to feel like I belong anywhere and it’s also hard to maintain relationships with people who aren’t high risk.
@bipr I took paxlovid because I was higher risk. Tested neg on day 10 then positive again on day 11, 14, 18, ?. The theory is paxlovid can make it milder but you can get a round 2 "paxlovid rebound". Nobody seems to agree on prevalence, duration or mechanism.
Covid day 21. Maybe I will test negative today? A lot of the congestion is gone except a tickle in my lungs that is hard to shift. Hiking = nope. Standing for long periods = nope. But feeling much more like a person and not a cloud of virus.
Some people are incredibly lucky to feel better and test neg within a week. Day 17 for me and I still have symptoms. Day 14 was still positive. Gonna pop a test in the next few days and see what we get 🤞
I'm superstitious about New Years. How I spend 31 December flavours the coming year.
So, for me, 2023 tastes like ... slowly regaining health, backwater townships, kindness of strangers, endless nacho cheese doritos
In 1959, Eugene Ionesco wrote the absurdist play Rhinoceros in which one by one, an entire town of people suddenly transform into rhinos. At first, people are horrified but as the contagion spreads, (almost) everyone comes to accept that turning into a rhinoceros is fine. 1/
@CatiaMalaquias Yes, well said. It's not even a lack of confidence. It's a massive skills-deficit which is actually engineered into the system = discrimination.
