HOW LOVELY ❤ Just been for a meal with the wife and a guy came in 5 minutes after us and as he went past our table he shook my hand and said hello.

I didn't know the guy but i was polite and said hi etc

15 minute later he popped over to our table and introduced himself as Chris and told me he was in recovery and had had a tuff day

I said hang on and we will have a sit down and a gab ... A lil later we went outside and sat down and spend 10 minutes chatting about addiction and recovery and shared some vulnerable emotions etc .

I took Chris number and told him i would drop him a message tomorrow and we will stay in touch . I told him the importance of talking

He then left and we said goodbye

When i came to pay the bill , the waiter told me that Chris had paid for it as a thank you.

It really really really touched me . Acts of kindness and gratitude are such a massive part of my life nowadays and tonight i was on the receiving end of a lovely act of kindness

Theres such a connection with people who are in recovery

Thank you Chris , i'm very proud of you mate x
