@FreyaAndHerCats The racism is truly appalling. They are so convinced they know what's best for black people that they treat conservative black people as brainwashed, self-hating, foolish, and/or incapable of independent analysis.
@BartemyS@buttonslives Absolutely. For many people, it may be the first time in their lives that they realize they're needed by someone else in a way that requires sacrifice. And it's when they learn that sacrifice is not a bad thing.
@Liquidator98577@PrishaMosley For it to be "actually true in a way," you'd have to define female as "the absence of male reproductive organs." That's a genuinely terrible definition.
@gabbagooorl@ReniL25422741@Prolife_Sam "Force more babies to be born" by allowing natural processes to continue? As opposed to "force more babies to be killed" before birth?
@ReniL25422741@Prolife_Sam Adoption, when done rightly, is designed to meet the needs of a child whose parents can't/won't care for him or her. Surrogacy is designed to meet the needs of adults at a child's expense.
@DrFrankTurek Part of the question is whether it causes desensitization to things that actually ought to horrify and sicken us. (When someone is desensitized because they're actively facing or fighting evil, that's different than getting used to seeing horrific evil as part of our leisure.)
@realZacZook@conservmillen I've never seen the argument "there are so many other hills to die on" used in a rational way. The fact that there are bigger problems out there doesn't inherently mean a smaller issue isn't worthy of discussion/debate or stating a firm opinion.
@BumpstockBarbie As a mental health professional, I'm told I must "affirm" transgenderism, even though gender dysphoria frequently has comorbidity with depression, in which skewed self-image (feeling worthless) is one potentially defining characteristic. Yet the client is the expert on identity??
@WWUTTcom Are these men so quick to rush to judgment when a police officer is drawn and quartered in the court of public opinion after a shooting? Or someone gets arrested for self defense? Then, it's all about needing more information before rushing to judgment, I bet. Hypocrisy.
@BernieDainton Jesus describes all kinds of sin and talks directly about the unrighteous going to Hell. It's true that he calls out religious leaders. Sometimes because they try to justify themselves, right? Maybe not so different than other people who try to justify themselves in grievous sin.
@FreyaAndHerCats Yeah, before sympathizing with someone's claim of "church hurt," I definitely need to know what happened and why they considered it hurtful. Some churches are awful, but it's also common for people to call truth and accountability abusive.
Lindsay Clancy:
1. Virtually every violent crime has a perpetrator who has some sort of psychological disorder or has suffered harsh abuse. We routinely convict these people by the thousands.
2. Yes, I believe postpartum depression is real, and serious.
3. But holy hell she slaughtered three children.
4. The moral hazard created by acquitting her is intolerable.
5. Convicting her is only as โunfairโ as convicting the thousands of often unfortunate souls who succumb to criminality on a daily basis.
6. Put her in jail. Fight me.
