Hi everyone! I’m Ellie de Castro, an archaeologist, #NatGeoExplorer and @NatGeoEducation Certified Educator. I spend most of my time finding ways to give kids who live closest to the archaeological sites I’ve worked in more access to their own heritage.
The stories we “collect” in the field are never meant for us alone. On Friday, we lost an elder who forever shaped the way I see South Baltimore. Today, I got to share photos and recordings with his family. Holding bits of people’s worlds is tender work. Rest easy, friend.
We've shown you the BAR cats/dogs before, so how about this for a change? Introducing Falco the mule, currently taking a weekend pit-stop at the BAR office in Oxford 🐴 So far he seems strangely nonplussed about our latest titles... I'm sure we'll get him reading in no time!
