Wk15: resistance leadership is something I see daily in my place of work, the act of defiance is usually due to the employee feeling unheard or unhappy. For example ignoring tasks, making sarcastic comments, being rude -although difficult this can help a leader to develop #OUB329
Wk14: Exiting this week generating ideas for the leadership challenge. Place-based leadership is vital especially in the community, example:in the NHS the communities needs and insights into complex issues help management navigate a plan going forward to address the needs #OUB329
Wk12: this week I learned about leadership narrative and positive-sum, negative-sum and zero-sum. While this is a new concept to me after working through this weeks work I believe that my approach to leadership games is positive-sum, looking for a win-win #OUB329@kristina_risley
Wk 11: conflict in leadership is a difficult situation, however been a aware of potential conflict is important and taking steps to avoid it all together. In my role in the NHS, conflict always happens due to the pressures from above, it is therefore a consistent theme #OUB329
Wk 10: this weeks topic on leadership strategies was particularly interesting, especially listing how we can motivate others. Since I’ve taken on a new management role this is useful to me for times when I need to motivate my team 💭#OUB329@kristina_risley
Didn’t get chance to do my weekly tweets as I was completing TMA 02 and another TMA for a different module. Can finally catch up on sharing what I’ve learnt and read others views on the topics and any issues they’ve encountered! 👩🏻🏫 #OUB329
Wk9- this week I learned about collaborative leadership and how it can help you become successful. Collaboration is not an area I have lots of experience in so this was interesting. I’m looking forward to the collaborative work in this module to expand my skills! @kristina_risley
Wk8- this week I learned about Barak (2017) views on inclusive workspace and external inclusion. This is important as my current role in the NHS deals with all different types of people with different backgrounds both staff internally and patients external #OUB329@kristina_risley
Wk 7 pt2-I found it interesting learning about managing the impressions of others as ‘first impressions count’ is something that’s always stuck with me. It never occurred to me that when we try and impress people we are selecting a identity we wish to be identified by #OUB329
Wk 7- this week I learned abit different leadership identities, after doing the quiz I am apparently ‘conscientious’ and a ‘workaholic’. Might have to slip that into my next conversation with my manager 🤣 #OUB329@kristina_risley
Wk5- this week I learnt how to properly structure an interview to get the most information out of it. This week also made me realise the importance of pre planning interview questions to ensure you don’t waste time and stick to the planned topic #OUB329@kristina_risley
I found out today that I was successful in an interview for a higher management position within the NHS. Excited to put my new knowledge into action once I start. Especially as the NHS is a constant changing environment, this will prepare me for the challenges to come! 💭 #OUB329
@Kath_clarkee@Barry_Verdin This is a really good aim to have and will be a great skill set of a future leader! The breakdown of communication barriers will not only open the organisation up to expand and gain further knowledge but will also help it develop a culture of acceptance! #OUB329@kristina_risley
Wk4 pt2- to me culture means unity, having the same values and roots. Linking to the Lily Pond the ‘underlying assumptions’ at the bottom of the pond are the roots that the values stem from which grows up to an organisations surface and show signs of its culture. @kristina_risley
Wk 4: This weeks studies highlighted how important it is for an organisation to develop a multicultural mindset, to gain new knowledge. This is evident in my organisation, the NHS which is very multicultural and encourages different orientation awareness. @kristina_risley#OUB329
Wk3, part 2- Populism within a contemporary society is relevant to learn about right now especially with the current changes in England’s politics. And the potential charismatic leadership of our new coming prime minister and the risks that come with it💭 #OUB329@kristina_risley
Wk3- This week I learned about populism effects within a contemporary society. I feel like the COVID pandemic is an example of this; the elites didn’t adhere to the lockdown rules or suffer like the lower class did which led to protests around the world🌎 @kristina_risley#OUB329
