The average base wage in the Premier League is £72,000 a week.

Now these contracts are long term contracts. They're also incentivized. That means that Chelsea see these players as an asset and not as a liability. So if you're a Chelsea player and you've got a long term contract, if you perform and are playing well and you're very productive, you get your salary. You also get huge bonuses.

It looks shocking, but I think the Chelsea owners would say, 'we're proud of this. We stand by what we're doing. We believe in this model'. The way to go is to give players, young players, long term contracts on relatively low, sensible wages.

The way to go is not to go out there and buy world class ready made players on three or four year contracts on big, big wages of three, 400,000 pounds a week, because guess what, after one season or two seasons, they're going to be knocking on your door asking for a new contract and asking for a pay rise. This way, the power is in the hands of the Chelsea owners, rather than the players or their agents. And the players are incentivized. Play well, score a lot of goals, prove that you're a great player."

@CFCboogs2 I paid £26 for a ticket in MHL for Thursday and my ticket was easy enough to get as a member, so if someone wants to pay £750 then I’ve got no issue. Just don’t agree with floods of tourists at first game of the season, when members can’t even get their own ticket.

@CFCboogs2 Seems ridiculous but our stadium capacity is about 20k less than spurs, 30k less than old Trafford. For every ticket to be £50 as a club ur losing so much revenue compared to other clubs every game. The only way to generate the revenue to spend like we do is to have those prices
