Home to the highest quality of support and compassionate care, Elliscombe House provides residential and nursing care in a lovingly restored Edwardian property.
Yesterday we were joined by Siska, who held a music therapy session for the residents. These sessions give them the opportunity to express their emotions through sound and music, sparking memories and conversations. #carehome#nursinghome#respitecare#luxury#musictherapy
We enjoyed the beautiful sunshine for a short while yesterday and helped our gardener, Jonathan, to fill our planters. After our hard work we relaxed with an ice-cold drink in the sun! #carehome#nursinghome#RespiteCare#luxury#somerset
Yesterday we had a reminiscence session when Rebecca's daughter brought her 'real life doll' for the residents to see. It brought so much joy to them, as they recalled memories of nurturing their own children when they were young. #carehome#nursinghome#RespiteCare#Somerset
Today we said a fond farewell to our Manager Amy, who is leaving to further her career elsewhere. We had a lovely send-off for her outside in the gardens, and wish her all the best for the future.
At Elliscombe House we have a memory tree, which is hung with photographs of well-loved and much-missed residents. We look at our tree, and have conversations about our memories of and friendships with them. #carehomes#nursinghome#respitecare#luxury#memories
A gift from a grateful family member to the staff for looking after her mother. Believe it or not this is not a bouquet of flowers, it is a bouquet of cupcakes! They are stunning and look (almost) too good to eat. We are so grateful for this gesture, thankyou. #carehome#luxury
We have had a wonderful busy afternoon, celebrating the birthdays of two residents & that of our Deputy Manager Sam. Care assistant Joseph played the saxophone and sang for us, we enjoyed dancing and most importantly 3 birthday cakes! #carehome#nursinghome#respitecare#luxury
This morning we had the pleasure of a visit fromPhoenix Voices choir. Their performance included songs which the residents had requested on a previous visit, so there was a lot of singing along too! A lovely way to start our weekend. #carehome#nursinghome#respitecare#luxury
The residents had a visit from Paula Flemming, a singer & performer who loves to involve them in her sessions. We enjoyed using the instruments & singing along, and will welcome her back in June with some requested song choices! #carehome#nursinghome#respitecare#luxury
Our residents enjoyed another wonderful art session with Josie from Class Creative Art Studios. This weekβs theme was inspired by Victory in Europe Day, some residents also explored chalk pastels as an extension activity. A lovely mix of creativity, history, and conversation!
The residents enjoyed a dance class from Tina 'The Pom-Pom Lady' who ended her session with a beautiful performance with wings. We look forward to welcoming her back next month when she will have a new dance performance & props for us to enjoy. #carehome#nursinghome#respitecare
Yesterday we had an energetic afternoon playing badminton & other racquet games. The residents showed some great mobility skills, twisting and turning to reach for the ball or shuttlecock. Everyone slept well last night after all that exercise! #carehome#nursinghome#respitecare
A resident and Rebecca made a flower arrangement for one of our beautiful pots located in the window of our staircase, using some wonderful faux flowers which were donated to us. We will change our arrangements to make them seasonal, and have already planned our autumnal display.
This afternoon we had a celebration for a much-loved care assistant who is going on maternity leave, keeping our plans a secret for weeks! We wish her the best of luck and cannot wait to meet the new Elliscombe House baby! #carehome#nursinghome#respitecare#luxury#bundleofjoy
