I'm grateful to have a permanent job again. My salary helps me carry part of the burden, but the needs of my rescues are far bigger than what one salary can cover.

This job means more than just a paycheck.
It means i can continue carrying my responsibilities and keep fighting for our stray animals.

People know me because of the rescues.
What many don't see is that rescue work has never relied on donations alone.
Every month, there are expenses that donations don't fully cover. Vet bills, food, boarding fees, transport, medicines, supplies, and countless unexpected emergencies.

My salary is not replacing donations.
My salary is the top-up that helps me cover the remaining costs and continue giving my rescues and stray amimals the care they deserve.
Every ringgit i earn from my work goes back into the animals in one way or another.

So today, I'm not only grateful for a new job.
I'm grateful for another opportunity to keep fighting for our animals.

But TBH, i still carry a lot of worries with me.
The unpaid vet bills.
The boarding fees that come every month.
The sick cats waiting for treatment.
The rescues depending on me to make the right decisions for them.
Getting a job doesn't make those worries disappear overnight.

While i am smiling in this photo, please know that behind the smile is a girl carrying many responsibilities and many lives on her shoulders.

I don't know what tomorrow will bring.
I will keep working.
I will keep fighting for my rescues 🩷
I will keep show up for our stray animals 💜
