My students love using the wipebooks to collaborate with their peers. So far this week we have used them in science and in language arts. @Wipebook@HamptonOaksElem
My students had the best time designing and making carnival games from recycled items. We invited classes to come to our carnival all day. @HamptonOaksElem
Word problems are more fun with bubble gum. Today students collected data from blowing bubbles and made single step word problems for their classmates to solve. @HamptonOaksElem
Mystery Day was full of so many fun activities. We used candy corn to model division, helped Mysteries Incorporated solve a math mystery, and solved the Case of the Haunting Hat during reading. @HamptonOaksElem
Student led conferences are truly one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Hearing my students discuss their strengths, weaknesses, and goals for the school year makes me so proud. If you haven’t tried them I challenge you to try it. You will be truly amazed.
From rock and roll themed word problems, to a rock and roll themed escape room, and then to using our reading strategies to identify theme and author’s purpose of a Bruno Mars song. We had the best time Rocking our School. @HamptonOaksElem@SCPSchools#rockyourschool
Today we reviewed what we knew about watersheds by making models. Students did a great job making the models and using our science vocabulary as they discussed their conclusions. @HamptonOaksElem@SCPSchools
Today we used our vertical workspaces to work on growing sentences. Each group had a different colored marker and each group helped write every sentence. The kids had so much fun and asked to do it again. @HamptonOaksElem
We had a great time today introducing our vertical spaces and working on a non curricular thinking problem. I love the team building that comes e from these problems. @HamptonOaksElem
