Put aside your (probably correct) assumptions on the source of this interview and listen to an expert in neonatology tear holes in the 'evidence' provided by the prosecution at the #lucyletby trial, which the appeal courts then dismissed because although likely correct in proving Dewi Evans to be incompetent, and his hypothesis on air embolism unfounded, "it could have been presented at the original trial".

WTAF?

So, let's get this straight ... justice and truth are less important than adducing compelling counter evidence at the right time. Even though Letby's defence could have gone to the authors of the paper Evans used as crucial to his embolism hypothesis (and let's admit it, the defence made some very poor decisions), it doesn't detract from the fact that Shoo Lee's correction of the record blows the prosecution's case wide open on this alone.

Our justice system is broken if this isn't something that forces a rethink on how appeals should work.

@ccrcupdate hopefully the criteria you base referrals on will take note and act accordingly - do the right thing for justice and truth, not merely the legal process!

The fact you think someone needs a qualification to recognise the essentiality of oil and the extent to which its needed says more about you and your allegiance to the 'expert' lanyard class that have come up with the insanity of a just stop oil set of policies.

Oil is absolutely essential in things you're not even able to imagine in your myopic head because it seems, once again, the cult of Net Zero has addled another brain.

We watch the likes of Milliband gaslight us on why we have the highest energy bills, whilst producing one of the lowest amounts of CO2 as a nation, and whilst buying and shipping oil and other commodities in from the worst kind of countries, or our neighbours benefitting from the same area we could be, because we stupidly shut our own capacity down to be 'greener'.

As a once believer in this nonsense I now cannot unsee the absolute insanity of such ideologically driven policies, that bear in mind, are driven vociferously by wealthy people who fly around in private jets. I have no issue with that in itself, but I will not be stopping my own air travel as long as the flagrant hypocrisy and clear double standards persist.

If we were really at the edge of a catastrophe, as we've been repeatedly told we are for the last 40-50yrs and of which little has actually materialised, these so called advocates of a zero carbon existence would be walking the talk, but they're not because they know it's bullshit yet they've sunk themselves too deep in a fallacy to admit that they should change tack in order to aim for cheaper energy in order to bring our crazy prices down. But they won't, because like with every other shit storm that's currently happening, they're more afraid of the optics than the reality.
