An unknown number of passengers on a quantum bus survived a serious accident after the vehicle caught fire due to a mechanical failure.

The incident happened about 15 kilometers north of Otjiwarongo on the B1 road, as the bus was heading south toward Otavi.

Otjozondjupa Regional Police spokesperson, Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, informed nbc about the crash but has not yet disclosed the exact number of people on board.

Preliminary reports suggest the bus experienced a wheel bearing failure.
