Elm Hill students and staff had tons of fun at our Fall Festival! There were relay races, nature rubbings, stories, scavenger hunts, face painting, dress as a book character and lots more activities.

We had a guest from VINS come visit and teach us about habitats. We specifically learned about beavers and how they build their dams and create a habitat for other animals. We touched a beaver pelt and held a beaver skull.
Springfield Fire Department has been educating every class at Elm Hill on fire safety. They also presented at All School Meeting. October is National Fire Prevention Month.

Miss.Merrow's Kindergarten class recently spent time learning about the season change from Summer to Autumn. As part of this unit students learned about leaves. They collected leaves from outside, dried them and used them to create a nature picture.
Ms. Carr’s class has gone batty! Last week was all about bats! We learned some facts about bats, and talked about story elements while reading Stellaluna. We ended the week with a student created bat snack and making bat hats!
