So, here it is, my 1st feature length doc: DerbyDays Buenos Aires,
A film no one anticipated becoming as complex+dark as it did.
Already humbled by the feedback, but an extra thankyou to @COPA90 allowing me to tell it/direct this way w such time+resources

Nice little full circle moment where I’ve been notified that on the same day as Messi equalled the WC goalscoring record, Episode 4 of my documentary series with @COPA90 from the last WC, Once In A Lifetime: Argentina, has hit a million views.

Irankunda not good enough for this dude when he was scoring bangers for Adelaide United. Now he celebrates him & Socceroos who, come to think of it, came through the A-League. Going on journey from the beginning is way more satisfying. See you in another 4 yrs champ 👋
Not just saying this because it’s @Copa90’s 1st episode of our new World’s Cup series, but this film is just f*cking wonderful.
The sentiment, the emotions and the genuine education Hussein has squeezed into a brilliant 10 minute is an absolute must watch.
I Went To Baghdad For Iraq's First World Cup Game In 40 Years.
This is easily the proudest moment of my life.
Showing the beauty and passion of a nation that's been through so much + witness history.
Shoutout @Copa90 & the Iraqi people.
Enjoy. 🇮🇶❤️

First I (think) I heard, was at a mates house watching The World Game.
Fozzy & Les were breaking down *that* goal vs Getafe & split the screen w Maradona’s goal vs England. Hadn’t heard either talk about a player in such a way & remember thinking to myself, ok this is different.
First I heard of Messi was when Arnau, his capt at Barça B who I'd meet learning Spanish + him English, said: "A new boy trained today. We couldn’t get the ball from him -it stuck to his feet like a magnet. I hit him hard. He flew into the air like a fly. I apologised. Watch him"
Every single day, there are countless clips of fans from all over the world taking over stadiums, squares and cities in general having the time of their lives. It truly is the global game, I know I’m too soppy and saccharin sweet for many on here but I fucking love it.
The World Cup is my favorite way to learn what countries hate each other. Just googling wars I’ve never heard of to figure out why all the Croatian fans are booing Sweden.
THE SOCCEROOS ARE MASSIVE 🔥
4.78 million people across Australia tuned into SBS to watch the Socceroos' first match of the World Cup 🤯
Football in Australia unites the nation like nothing else!
Good reminder for all the new Beach fans that
a) you could have been watching him each week
b) he wasn't even the best Aussie keeper in the league this season
c) the a-league is full of quality players and the wider narrative around the league is a nonsense
The World Cup has been good so far. FIFA is a wretched organisation. America has been welcoming and fun. Donald Trump is loathsome. Come back tomorrow for another display of miraculous cognitive dissonance freestyling
