First talk of the day, @caseyathomas1 from @elmuon @UON_research has found her marbles, but wants to check out (the) vast impact of density #SydneySoftSurfaces
Someone who has clearly lost their marbles - @caseyathomas1 is presenting her talk "Help Us Find Our Marbles" next. Joining us from @elmuon and @chem_uon @UON_research.
@caseyathomas1 will be asking for your help to find our #marbles tomorrow, along with a great selection of talks based around colloids and interfaces. Register to join in!
The first ACIS ECR conference begins at 9:30 am tomorrow (22nd of May).
Zoom Meeting: https://t.co/MutkAclIk1 ; ID: 813 2357 5041
Registrants will have received emails.
Others interested - email for the meeting password:([email protected] / [email protected])
Check out our most recent paper - Ben's first from his PhD, congratulations!
Electrostatic Transfer of Conductive Particles for the Formation of Liquid Marbles–Charge Transfer Behavior
https://t.co/Ll5e8rtS2h
4/4 Changing the liquid doesn't impact the distance from which particles are transported but does change the time required. Using ethanol reduces the number of conditions that are successful - if you use the wrong liquid, you may just lose your marbles! @UON_research #UONPhD
3/4 The liquid properties - viscosity, surface tension and conductivity - were changed and the difference in particle transport and behaviour was measured using high speed video analysis. @UON_research #UONPhD
2/4 Liquid marbles are particle coated liquid droplets that are used in cosmetics & chemical sensing. Using static electricity, we can transport particles to a droplet without direct contact. Does changing the liquid inside impact particle behaviour? @UON_research #UONPhD
1/4 Liquid affecting your marbles?

A summary from my thesis entitled “Electrostatic formation of polymer stabilised liquid marbles”
Always enjoy seeing a talk from a colleague, especially one which is interesting, well timed and acknowledges the inputs of students, thanks A . Prof Grant Webber #Chemeca19
The abstract submission deadline for oral presentation has been extended to 17 June 2019. You still have time to submit your abstract to the @OkinawaColloids!
Someone has to be the last speaker, and today it's Ben Lobel, who searches for those lost marbles with @elmuon @UON_research, this time with copper particles!
