Three tankers hit in the Strait of Hormuz in 24 hours. Not one. Not two. Three.

A Qatari LNG carrier, the Al Rekayyat, set ablaze in the engine room. A Saudi supertanker, the Wedyan, struck off Oman. A third vessel hit by a drone. This is not an accident. This is Iran testing whether Trump's word means anything.

It does.

Trump already gave them the warning shot in plain English. "We can knock down their bridges in one hour. We can knock out their energy supply," he said Monday from the White House. "I'd rather make a deal, because I don't want to affect 91 million people."

That is not a threat. That is mercy with a deadline attached.

Iran's answer was missiles fired at commercial ships in international waters, the same waterway they agreed to keep open and toll free under the memorandum signed less than a month ago. Their foreign minister now says talks are off unless the threats stop.

You do not get to torch tankers and then complain about tone.

Qatar is not buying it. Their government called the strike an "unacceptable attack" and holds Iran "fully legally responsible." Saudi Arabia condemned the hit on its own vessel too. Even Iran's neighbors know a bad actor when they see one.

Markets felt it instantly. Brent crude jumped to nearly seventy four dollars a barrel. Treasury yields ticked up on inflation fears. This is what happens when a regime treats a shipping lane like a leash.

The Ayatollah is dead and buried this week. His replacement is already showing the same playbook. Provoke, deny, then act shocked when the world stops trusting your signature.

Trump does not bluff. Iran is about to find that out the hard way if this continues.

Peace through strength is not a slogan. It is a strait full of tankers that either sail free or do not sail at all.
